August drawing features a dozen ‘Tailgate Package’ prizes

The beginning of August means many things to North Carolinians. It’s still hot as heck outside. Students and teachers are heading back to the classroom. And many people are excited that football season is just around the corner. That means tailgating season is too!

If you’d like a chance to be king or queen of the tailgate, use 50 points to enter the Tailgate Package Drawing - the monthly Lucke-Rewards drawing for August. You could win one of 12 tailgate packages with everything you need to throw a great party:

Night or day, rain or shine, you’ll be ready with a Coleman 10’x10’ instant shade canopy with LED lighting.
Since you can’t tailgate without great food and drinks, each package includes a Weber Q-320 gas grill and an Igloo 120 qt. cooler.
A winner will rule the roost with a steel-constructed fold-out padded chair and compact aluminum table that seats up to eight, both made by Coleman.
Enjoy the details of the on-field action with a pair of Bushnell spectator kits including binoculars, or get competitive with a Halex brand “Pitch Perfect” bean bag set.
Each of the 12 prizes is worth $1,948 and the lottery will pay all the applicable fees as well as estimated state and federal tax withholdings.

@ PLAYER (RESAH) - Thank you for the suggestion. The Lucke-Zone is not set up to provide notification that way, and there could be other reasons why the lottery is obligated to notify winners a different way. But we will pass along your suggestion.

@ PLAYER18 (LONGFOOT18) - Put quite simply, a random number generator generates numbers randomly. We would love it if everyone could win a prize in the drawings, but that's not the way it works. Making more than one entry gives you more than once chance to win, but someone with even just one entry has a chance to win - that's what a game of chance is. For the most recent Winning Wednesday drawing, more than 133,000 entries were made; for the most recent $25,000 Firecracker Cash Drawing, more than 191,000 entries were made.

How does the number generator machine work. I put in 300 entries for a $2500 Wed drawing. Did not win. Put in 622 entries and did not win. I know that aren't many,if any, others putting in those amount of entries into a drawing. So I'm still confused on why haven't I won at least one of the $2500 prizes.

i know it says if you win one of the drawings that you will be notified by email or phone call, but i'm always afraid i missed a notification. why not also put a message in our personal message center on lucke-rewards that we have won so it's sure not to be missed. then we could just check and know for sure if we won?

a very good idea by LUCKY RED about a players card. although i am very happy with the way NC and the lucke zone handles things, an easier way to enter numbers would be helpful. Also, an increase of self serve machines would be great, rather than deal with angry cashiers at gas stations that hate dealing with lotto players :/

Lucke-Zone - Have you ever thought about members of Lucke Rewards being issued a players card so that when we buy lottery tickets or scratch offs we can have it scanned and be automatically entered into all the drawings!!! It is very time-consuming entering all these 25-digit codes everyday! By having a players card, would eliminate most of the problems that players continue to have and will make everyone happy!!!

@ JACKOFDIAMONDS - An entry into the Tailgate Package drawing is 50 points because 12 prizes will be awarded. Think of it as a game with 12 smaller top prizes instead of one really big top prize. So, you can use 50 points for a chance to win one of 12 prizes this month, or use 10 points to enter a weekly drawing where one prize of $2,500 will be awarded - its your choice! :-)

I don't understand why this drawing is 50 points, but the $2500 cash is only 10 per entry. The tailgate package is worth $1948. That pales in comparison to July's $25,000 drawing.
