Four Carolina Cash 5 jackpot prizes highlighted a week of wins that added up to more than $17.6 million in prizes paid out to players in North Carolina.
We start with Charles Pace of Winston-Salem, who plans to buy a new car with his $336,415 Cash 5 win.“I had asked them to print out the winning numbers from last night,” Pace said. “I was sitting there looking at the numbers and I thought I was imagining the whole thing.”
Lynette Brice, an office manager from Greensboro, said that winning Wednesday’s $261,721 jackpot means she can save for retirement and help provide for her grandchildren’s college education.
A truck driver from Garner claimed a $224,632 Cash 5 prize.“I had to clean my glasses,” Major McLean said. “Then I had to take them off to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.”
Finally, Arthur Huff of Fayetteville plans to buy new truck with his $169,635 Cash 5 prize.
“It feels great to win,” Huff said. “I’m getting a new Nissan truck and I’m going to share with my family.”
This week's big instant scratch-off winner was David Kincaid of Granite Falls, who won $200,000 playing 20X The Cash.“I feel a lot of things,” Kincaid said. “Great. Wonderful. Fine. Fantastic. Excited and heavenly. This truly is a life-changer.”
Since Thursday, Aug. 8, more than $13.9 million was awarded to winners of instant scratch-off games. Players of draw games won more than $3.7 million in total prizes.

Luther Wilder of Fayetteville won $25,000 playing Red White & Blue Cash.

Donnie Johnson of Selma won $10,000 playing 50X The Cash.
David Kesler of Wilmington won $10,000 playing MONOPOLY.
Lonnie McGee of Angier won $10,000 playing 50X The Cash.
Sharon Moore of Weaverville won $10,000 playing 50X The Cash.
Nickie Phillips of Elkin won $10,000 playing 5X The Cash.
Riley Shelton of Manns Harbor won $10,000 playing MONOPOLY.
