A pair of Cash 5 tickets split Wednesday’s jackpot to win $182,094 each. The winning numbers were: 23-24-28-33-39. The odds of matching all five numbers playing North Carolina's jackpot game are 1 in 575,757.

One of the lucky tickets was sold at the Kmart on Dixon Boulevard in Shelby. The other ticket was sold about 86 miles east at the Friendly Mart on East Main Street in Albemarle.

The lucky ticketholders have 180 days to come to lottery headquarters in Raleigh to collect their prize money.

@ COWBOYS - Sorry to hear you are frustrated. Please call technical customer service: 800-201-0108

3500 entries in a $2500 drawing and nothing. Now I’m locked out of my account. It is not worth the hassle to get it back open. You are made to feel like a criminal. This program has serious problems and is doing nothing but leaving a bad taste in the lucky zone players mouths; players that spend over a billion dollars on the lottery last year. So sad.

9/17/2013 10:24 - beverly c.

@Cheryl I had 658 entries for the second chance drawing and didn't win anything so that gives you some idea. Don't use all your points on one draw because having a lot does not even matter.

9/17/2013 09:27 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER (CHASDUGG) - Each entry you make has the same chance of winning a prize as anybody else's. The Lucke-Rewards drawings are additional chances to win prizes at no extra cost to players. So we hope that you and other members enjoy those extra chances to win, but it will still take a lot of luck!

9/17/2013 09:25 - NC Lottery

@ JOE - Just think about it for a second. If 10,000 people in one place take a chance to win a prize in a lottery drawing. And 100 people in another place take a chance to win a prize in a lottery drawing. Which place is more likely for the winner to be from? The place where 10,000 people took a chance to win. But not because those players had a "BETTER" chance to win... simply because more of them took a chance to win. Does that make sense? The odds are the same for everyone. If you see that a particular place has had a lottery winner, remember all the other players in that area who played for a chance to win, and did not. The lottery is fair to everyone who plays for a chance to win. We hope this information is helpful to you.

9/17/2013 07:49 - Chasica D.

I feel some people don't have a chance at winning the lottery or these second drawing. You can only enter 75 tickets a day which gets you 1-2 points (depending on what tickets you enter) and you use all of them to enter one drawing. If you enter everyday you may have 90 entries for that game. So that's 90 out of 137,000. I think the tickets should give you more points or up the ticket entries per day. Hope I win soon!

9/17/2013 06:30 - Marvin R.

@ Cheryl 9/15/13 - Don't feel bad. I entered 1,452 entries in the Hot Summer Second Chance Drawing and didn't win either. It just has to be your time to win. I did enter 10 entries in the 5 for $500 back in January of this year and won $500.

9/16/2013 05:07 - Yousif T.

I have a map, Thank you very much. A map that shows randomly picking winners at randomly same locations, (Triangle Area). I have simply taken the information from this website and compiled it and that's what i see, that's all. Put up a map and see for your self.

9/16/2013 04:24 - NC Lottery

@ JOE - Look more carefully up the comments on this blog, you'll see your comment from Friday. We don't censor comments just because they are critical of the lottery or, in the case of your comment, accuse the lottery of something. With that said, we aren't going to get into a long and drawn-out argument. We respect your right to your own point of view and wish you the best.

9/16/2013 02:22 - Yousif T.

Where is my comment? I had replied to your answer about cash 5 on Friday afternoon, But I guess you did not post it? Guess you didn't like it, or your going to say you never received it???

9/16/2013 02:16 - NC Lottery

@ JOE - You're free to make your own maps. But please understand that games of chance work the same way in our state as they do anyplace else. If 1,000 people in a small town all played Cash 5 one night and only 1 person in Charlotte played Cash 5 one night, it'd be 1,000x more likely that one of the 1,000 people in the small town would have a lucky jackpot-winning ticket. But everyone's odds would still be the same!

9/16/2013 02:14 - NC Lottery

@ CHINBEN - Absolutely! As long as a person is 18+, they don't have to be a North Carolina resident to play the lottery or win a prize, whether its scratching, matching, or entering drawings such as Lucke-Rewards or game-specific second-chance drawings. But, you do have to buy your lottery tickets here in N.C. in order to participate. Good luck!

9/16/2013 02:12 - NC Lottery

@ GREG - No plans to add a Hot Lotto game at this time.

9/16/2013 02:11 - NC Lottery

@ JACKOFDIAMONDS - We wish we could notify everyone who enters drawings to tell them that they've won. But as you point out, very few players get to win compared to the total number of people who play. That's just the way games of chance are. That's why we hope folks will enjoy playing for a chance to win knowing it takes a ton of luck.

9/16/2013 02:10 - NC Lottery

@ CHERYL - Lucke-Rewards drawings are conducted using a random number generator, under the supervision of an auditor, according to specific security procedures. Each entry a player makes has the same chance of winning a prize. Making more entries increases your chances, but many players make many entries for a chance to win. For example, for the "Five for $500" Lucke-Rewards drawing to be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, more than 137,000 entries were made.

9/16/2013 02:08 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER (FSHRRD) - What time of day you buy your ticket, where you buy your ticket, and how you choose your numbers have no effect on your odds of winning a prize in a drawing.

9/15/2013 05:56 - PATRICIA H.

Congratulations to the winners, I look forward to joining the winning team very soon!

9/15/2013 01:49 - Billy F.

Are my chances better if i purchase my ticket, just before the game closes?

9/15/2013 12:01 - Tinika B.

Someone in my hometown of Stanly County hit the cash five jackpot!!! Proud of my hometown... I hope I'm next in winner a big cash five jackpot. Gods will

9/15/2013 10:40 - Cheryl D.

I would like to know how the winners are chosen in the Lucke second chance drawings? I have entered at least 110 to 130 entries on some games and I still font win. I would like to know what's a good amount of entries to stand a chance of being chosen. Thanks for your help.

9/15/2013 10:08 - Sandra H.

i meant to say there are winners in Asheville & Waynesville, was just saying the futher east you go there Are more winners Thanks

9/15/2013 08:51 - Roger K.

@ 1R2K - Fun facts! Cash 5 is a great game, isnt it? Yes, it is exciting to find out the facts of how many winners have won this year. I was hoping it would give me a chance of finding me a way to win, by looking up all the winning numbers that won in the past. I have studied all the drawing to see how many times this number or that number has came up in the past drawing, all the winning numbers that won for them. I write them numbers down and do a matrix of my own. I do a combination of number sequence, Common Number Patterns. You know Numbers can have interesting patterns. I check out what is late coming out and what number are hot numbers! United States Lotteries winning numbers, analysis web page helps me out too! Good Luck everyone! P.S. your response to DEEP1 was spot on!! Good way of explaining it!! another thing, I won 4 dollars on PB last night!!! PB number 20....First time I've won in a very long time!

9/14/2013 10:28 - steve b.

Thanks for your responce, Lucke-Zone!! I know all about the odds & it doesn't matter where on earth, let alone NC. where you live!! LOL.. I still can't believe people keep complaining about location for the ability to win, after the hundreds+ times explaining to them that fact! I'm just waiting for my turn someday and thanks for at least a chance!!, Bartie

9/14/2013 10:10 - charles d.

@ LADYLUCK-I don't know if my commnts are going thru.I'm new at this, can you let me know.

9/14/2013 04:20 - Paul M.

Now that the hot summer second chance drawing is over, my interest in lucke-zone has plummeted. I'll put in a few entries here and there, but the time, effort and money spent isn't worth it. For those whining about certain areas not winning versus others, you should consider population. If you can't figure it out, then you should quit playing the lottery. Tennessee joined the powerball almost 2 years before NC, and they've had 1 winner vs 3 for NC. Texas has been in the powerball for over 3 years with no winner. Comparing populations, NC is around 10 mil and Texas over 26 mil. Not everybody understands how much of a longshot 1 in 175 million is I guess.

9/14/2013 12:51 - charles d.

It's hard to see winners all over the place. One thing we know somebody is going to win, gambling is a whole different animal like alcohol or drugs be patience and enjoy. I HAVE TO DO THAT!!!!

9/14/2013 11:30 - Greg P.

Any chance the nc lottery would bring a game like hot lotto in to NC?

9/13/2013 10:15 - Vicente R.

Can a out-of-state person participate in the second chance drawing ?

9/13/2013 06:52 - ANGELIA G.

Never win a dime, it's a waste on money playing and a waste of my time entering the ticket for drawings... I'm done!!!

9/13/2013 06:47 - LESLIE B.

man i have put in 10,013 points for second chance and still not a winner. very dissapointing, think i am done only had 3 100 scratch of wins and a 50 the rest has been down hill not very lucky here deep in the hole got to stop.your welcome teachers sorry they wont give you a raise for how many years now?

9/13/2013 06:25 - Andrew S.

You have to pay attention , Its all about numbers , there are more winners in big cities because there are MORE PLAYERS in big cities. I live in a small town and we have had 4 winners of over 100K so I'm in a lucky little town. My time is coming soon. lol.

9/13/2013 04:31 - Yousif T.

The number of winners at certain locations don't lie. I made it easy for you by gathering information from your website (refer to my last post). Prove Me Wrong, Show the cash 5 wins on a map of NC!!!

9/13/2013 03:35 - michael c.

Enjoy reading the comments from folks saying living in a small town gives them worse odds of winning. Makes not winning a bit better!

9/13/2013 03:29 - NC Lottery

@ JOE + @ SANDY - Please see our response to DEEP1 above. It's not easier to win the lottery in one place than it is in another. The odds are the same for everybody. Anybody could buy a ticket that happens to have the lucky numbers in a drawing.

9/13/2013 12:27 - Sandra H.

I know the winners aren't in Waynesville or Asheville, the odds of winning are better if you go east thay my opinion!

9/13/2013 12:20 - Yousif T.

Ok, first the link takes you to all winners page. Prove Me Wrong. Show a map of cash 5 winners from 2006 to present with a pin representing a win. It shouldn't be hard, start from Oct 27 2006. There has been 2,511 cash 5 drawings so far. Average cash 5 wins per month are 8 wins which equals to approximately 670 wins. Lots of people are seeing the same thing about cash 5, I'm not the only one

9/13/2013 12:04 - Fatima Y.

Hoping this old 83 yr old body of mine will hold out long enough for me to win a great prize! Should be my turn to win soon I hope! Congratulations to all the winners.

9/13/2013 11:53 - NC Lottery

@ DEEP1 - We have had this back and forth conversation with you many times, and we really want there to be a good understanding about the odds of winning. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that you're the only player in Northeastern North Carolina to buy a set of Powerball numbers. You would have a 1 in 175 million chance of hitting the jackpot. Now, lets say 1,000 players in Charlotte buy one set of Powerball numbers each. Each of those players would have a 1 in 175 million chance of hitting the jackpot. Would it be MORE LIKELY that one of the 1,000 players in Charlotte will win than you? Yes, it would be 1,000 times more likely. But each individual player would still have exactly the same chance of winning. If just one of the players in Charlotte won, the other 999 wouldn't win. So you see, it doesn't matter where you buy your ticket. The odds are the same. Good luck to you!

9/13/2013 11:50 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER (MAGICWAND6959) - If you're referring to the numbers from past drawings for games like Pick 3 or Powerball, just visit our main website, hover over the "GAMES" button, and choose your favorite game to check the numbers from past drawings going back to when the lottery began.

9/13/2013 11:49 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER (CHASDUGG) - The odds of winning in a Lucke-Rewards drawings depend entirely on how many Lucke-Zone members decide to enter the drawings, and how many entries they make. There are more than 92,000 entries made into the September Cash drawing so far; there were 173,581 entries made into the Winning Wednesday drawing held this week. It takes a lot of luck to win!

9/13/2013 11:47 - NC Lottery

@ MAYBABY - You can search back through all the past drawing results and see if you happen to see a Washington winner there. We know everyone is excited about the chance to win, and we can assure you that whether you live in a big place or a little one, your entries are just as good as everyone else's :-)

9/13/2013 11:46 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER (BARTIE) - We appreciate you & all our players... the thing about games of chance is... the best we can ever guarantee you is a fair chance to win!! Good luck to you!! :-)

9/13/2013 11:45 - NC Lottery

@ 1R2K - Fun facts! Cash 5 is a great game, isnt it?

9/13/2013 11:45 - NC Lottery

@ LADYLUCK - There are no plans at this time to expand the number of daily drawings.

9/13/2013 11:44 - NC Lottery

@ JOE - First, there's no way a "large majority" of Cash 5 wins are in any particular part of the state. Here's a link you can copy & paste for more info about various jackpot winners: http://bit.ly/17UVqqY ... There is a lot of confusion about geography and playing the lottery. The odds are the same in a little town as they are in a big city. There are just MORE PEOPLE taking a chance to win in larger places. So you see, nobody has an advantage or disadvantage. About 1 in 4 North Carolinians live in Guilford, Mecklenburg and Wake counties. It's not easier to win the lottery in those places, there's just more people there taking a chance to win. Does that make sense?

9/13/2013 11:34 - Lorea D.

Congrats to all winners to...

9/13/2013 10:49 - Yousif T.

Congrats!

9/13/2013 10:32 - Mark M.

Congrats to the winners !!!!

9/13/2013 10:31 - Yousif T.

I did little online research of cash 5 winner from 2006 to present, It appears to be that a large majority of cash 5 winners are located in the or near the triangle area????? Greensboro is where the wins are stuck at?????

9/13/2013 09:45 - Sandra S.

Texas and Oregon have 4 daily drawings.... will North Carolina follow?

9/13/2013 09:06 - Roger K.

CASH 5 winners so far this year 2013...63 total, I hope I'm number 64...There was 10 winners in Jan...6 winners in Feb...11 winners in Mar...9 winners in APRIL...7 winners in May... 4 winners in JUNE...10 winners in July...4 winners in August... and 2 winners so far this month of September. Good Luck everyone!

9/13/2013 09:00 - steve b.

NCEL, show me the money!! I want to win something!! It's only fair, because I showed you ALL my money and them some!! LOL....wink, wink... Someday I hope ;-)

9/12/2013 10:16 - Charlene W.

Has anyone ever won the Wednesday drawing for $2,500 or for the $25,000 Wednesday drawing in my little town of Washington, North Carolina?

9/12/2013 10:14 - Shunta C.

I wish I could win more than $20. Some thousands would be greatly appreciated.

9/12/2013 05:12 - Chasica D.

I hope I win at lease one of the drawings that I keep entering! What's the odds of winning because I saw the same person win the same drawing a week apart..

9/12/2013 04:48 - joseph c.

Waiting for my time to win more then a dollar. Congrats to the winners!!!!

9/12/2013 04:44 - James T.

Congratulations to the winners. Enjoy. How about on this website, is there somewhere to view numbers from past drawings? I can not find it if it is on here. Thanks

9/12/2013 04:31 - Michael R.

That's it, I'm gonna have to leave Northeastern NC if I want a chance of winning the cash 5, PowerBall or Megamillion. I'm gonna either have to move to the Raleigh area or the Charlotte and western NC area. Northeastern NC is totally forsaken and it's a travesty being that the lottery is suppose to be fair and balanced. We got lucky and had one powerball winner in the Northeast so I guess we should thank our laurels. Haaaaa

9/12/2013 01:57 - Mel C.

Thank you for the info.

9/12/2013 01:49 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER (MCONLEY) - If you mean the Hot Summer 2nd Chance drawing held yesterday (Wednesday), notification of winners typically takes place within 48 hours of the drawing. So, by 5pm Friday we would expect e-mail notification to be done. The "WINNERS" link for that drawing will be updated as soon as we have info available.

9/12/2013 01:47 - NC Lottery

@ HARLEY69 - It's totally up to you how you'd like to use your points to enter drawings. If you've got the points, you can use them to enter one drawing or lots of drawings :-)

9/12/2013 01:43 - Christy A.

Can I enter more than once on the drawings or can I enter as many times that I want ?

9/12/2013 01:32 - Roger K.

dag nab it!! I was hoping to win that jackpot!!! Been putting out to much money trying to win this lottery! Congrats to the double winners! Enjoy your winning! Hope my turn won't be to much longer!

9/12/2013 12:11 - Mel C.

@Lucky-Zone Has NCEL notify all of the winners, for the Hot Summer Second Chance Drawings?

9/12/2013 11:14 - NC Lottery

@ KENNDEW51 - As you can see when you click on the winners for that drawing, they've all been notified. The lottery can't announce a winner's name until he or she completes the claim process. Lottery prizes valued at $600-$99,999 must be claimed at one of the lottery's regional claim centers, or by mail. We'll share the info as soon as we can! :-)
