Mega Millions ticket sold in Charlotte wins $250,000

A trio of lucky tickets won big prizes in this weekend’s drawings, as the jackpots for Mega Millions, Powerball and Carolina Cash 5 all grew larger.

A $250,000-winning Mega Millions ticket, which beat odds of 1 in 3.9 million to match all five white balls in Friday’s drawing, was sold at the Kangaroo Express on Randolph Road in Charlotte. The jackpot for the game, meanwhile, rolled to an estimated $106 million annuity value ($71.8 million cash) for Tuesday’s drawing.

There was no “perfect ticket” in Saturday’s Powerball drawing either, pushing the annuity value for Wednesday’s jackpot to an estimated at $245 million ($136.3 million cash). A pair of tickets sold in North Carolina, however, matched four out of five white balls and the red Powerball. A $3 Power Play ticket worth $40,000 was sold at the Haroon Food Mart on U.S. 301 South in Wilson. A $10,000-winning ticket was sold at ABC Fuel Express on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville.

Players of Carolina Cash 5 saw the jackpot for that game roll through the weekend to an estimated $206,000 for Monday’s drawing.

A million people live in Charlotte. If you hear that one player from Charlotte won a big prize playing a lottery game, remember all the other people who live there that didn't happen to win that day. People ,please do not feel to bad.I have been playing the lottery from day 1 and all I have ever won was $12.00 on a powerplay and didn't get that.I have a cardboard box full of tickets that are useless.If you want to win don't buy tickets in Youngsville ,you better go to Raleigh,Charlotte,Fayetteville.Asheville,Greenville.All small town winners are located somewhere close to these big towns.Losing all the time is not to much fun.

I think when the lottery pick there players who have won the second chance drawing..they should also post how many tickets they entered as well...so others that would like to win can give them serious competition ...that would be fair for everybody..
