Triple 8's mean $3.4 million in Pick 3 prizes

For the sixth time in Pick 3 history, the combination 8-8-8 was drawn at random, leading to a big payout for lucky winners. Those winners in the Friday night drawing won more than $3.4 million in prizes. The last time Triple 8's appeared was in the evening drawing on Dec. 9, 2012.

Each three-digit combination in each Pick 3 drawing has exactly a 1 in 1000 chance of coming up in a drawing. There are ten possible triple combinations, 000-999. Since the Pick 3 game began, one of those triple combinations has been the winning numbers in a total of 44 drawings.

I like to search overdue numbers. The biggest problem with pick3,4 is one can spend 2,3,or 4 times what the actual prize is worth. For ex. there are still several pick 3 numbers that never hit exact. NC Lottery
It can be fun to examine things like that, but remember that each random drawing is an isolated event... a # is not more or less likely to be drawn because it was or was not drawn in the past. It's 1 in 1000 odds for every combination in every drawing :-)

Let me say this! I sometimes use a magnifying glass to look at the numbers and letters. Hope this helps any of you out there in lottery land!

LZ players!!!! it does look like the numbers and letters look the same, but if you slow down and take your time to look carefully you will see the difference! Look for the straight line on the letter B and look careful at the number 8 the round at the top and bottom, like a circle! At first I had the same problem too, buy after I slow down and look at the letters and numbers closely, I saw the difference. Hope this helps you out!

I agree with "DEGUZMAN" at times it get hard to read the numbers & letter on 'Pick Tickets' the ('G' looks like a '6') or ('B' look like '8') or ('Z looks like a '7') Need to Make them more bigger & Bolder image like they have as (Lucke-Rewards Entry Code) on each Pick ticket...

I understand you have new procedures with security but the winners page is very important to us as players. yes i have been playing the lottery since it has came out they say the money is going towards education for our kids well we need to give the teachers more money than what they are getting to teach our kids and i am in wilmington nc we never get no big winners here and why dont they more winners on scratch off tickets we wanna win also thank you your next big winner LOL

Just to give you an example, more than 138,000 entries were made into the $2,500 Cold Cash drawing and more than 250,000 entries were made into the $25,000 Cold Cash drawings that were held on Jan. 8. Just like with Cash 5 or Powerball, it could take just one lucky ticket/entry to win a prize. i an very sorry that i always interpose when i input the numbers. you see i am 68 years old and sometimes or most of the time i can not see the correct letter or numbers, e.g. s i sometimes input it as number r, etc. so please do not lock me out. I am finding it realllll hard to understand how you can "plug in" almost 70,000 points to varies drawing over a six month period ( as many as 500 in one drawing) and NOT WIN A SINGLE PENNY.....How about a 2nd chance drawing winner telling us HOW MANY entry ticket you put into the drawing where you won...

I'm always seeing 444 or 4444 on my receipts, the clock time. etc. and I have been seeing these nos. for the past 2 yrs. I played them for a while , but when I did see it, it was in the Virginia drawing. I just gave up.
