Store in Boone sells $581,760-winning Cash 5 ticket

Jackpot game players know that Carolina Cash 5 gets exciting fast. Before being hit on Monday night for $581,760, the jackpot rolled nine times in a row.

The lucky ticket, sold at Wilco #281 on N.C. 105, beat odds of 1 in 575,757 to match all five numbers Monday night to win the jackpot. The winning numbers were 2-4-21-28-34. The ticketholder has 180 days to come to Lottery Headquarters in Raleigh to claim the prize money.

The next Cash 5 Bonus Bucks drawing is coming soon. For an extra chance to win $50,000 in the Feb. 5 drawing, make sure to enter before the clock strikes 12 on Jan. 22. Good luck!

Yeah but to have the same pick 3 to keep coming out twice a week in what seems like a weekly thing is a little suspect and more than just an anomaly. Today for instance, 581 was drawn again after just being drawn two or three days ago. NC Lottery

Well I like NC Cash 5 better than I do that sorry Pick 3. Keep recycling the same set of numbers over and over , week in and week out. If you have a favorite number forget it. You stand a better chance at playing repeats. LOL NC Lottery
There's no way to get around the odds except to be lucky. Numbers don't become more or less likely to come out depending on past results, there's a 1 in 1000 chance for each set of numbers in Pick 3 in every drawing. Whether you like Cash 5 or Pick 3 or another game... good luck!

@ MOREMONEY - Well, the odds of matching 2 out of 5 are 1 in 9.6; the odds of matching 3 out of 5 are 1 in 103; the odds of matching 4 out of 5 are 1 in 3387... so, you can divide 575,757 by the figures 9.6, 103, and 3387 separately and that would tell you the average expected number of tickets that would match at each level. Of course, due to random chance/luck, the actual results would not come out exactly that way. But, if you were to run the experiment hundreds or thousands of times, the average result would be very close. Fun questions!!

The new subscription that is going on now. Has anyone won anything yet? Not just a little amount but a substantial amount of winners. Congrats to the Boone winner! I Spent way too much money on Cash 5 when it gets over 300,000 trying to win, 5,8,10 bucks worth of tickets and all I win is 1.00 dollar, sometimes 2.00. But must keep on playing! You can't win if you are not in it to win! Did win 2 dollars last night, on Cash 5 but nothing on PB. Hoping my day will come soon, I'm not getting any younger! To Lucke-Zone: The real question is? How many winning chances are there of (2 out of 5=__?) & (3 out of 5=__?) & (4 out of 5=__?) all from playing 575,757 pick tickets. I know you would be in the hole of buying all those tickets, It's the thought of how many would be a winner? & Hate to find all the ones are winners too! Paper work is never done! Ha, Ha!

@ MOREMONEY - If one person were to buy all 575,757 possible number combinations for $1 each... that would be a big risk! Because one or more other tickets could also beat the odds to win their share of the jackpot. Then the person who spent half a million dollars for a chance to win the jackpot would not be happy! Same deal with Powerball... there is no way to guarantee a win with a game of chance :-) We've had many players who won the Cash 5 jackpot on just a $1 or $5 ticket. :-)
