New year brings new instant games

It’s a brand new year, so let’s celebrate it with new scratch-off games!

Four new instant games go on sale Jan. 7 including a game that features a $1 million top prize.

Here’s the big one: The Color of Money is a $10 game that begins with five $1 million prizes and more than $41.7 million in overall prizes. Players can win more than 175,000 prizes from $40 to $500. Revealing a “$50” symbol wins the player $50 instantly.

The new $5 game, $250,000 Cash Money, starts with six top prizes of $250,000 and more than $20.6 million in total prizes.

Triple The Money! is a $2 game that starts with five $30,000 top prizes and more than $6.8 million in total prizes.

Want to play the lottery but only want to spend a buck? The new $1 game, EZ Money!, begins with more than $4.2 million in total prizes and 10 top prizes of $10,000.

Hello, I see that Jumbo Bucks and 1000 dollar a week games have started again. Does this mean the old ones are still out there with just a few prizes left on them or did they get picked up when the new games stared. I don't want to waste my hard earned money on them if I'm buying the old ones. NC Lottery
The game has been re-ordered due to its popularity among our players. The new game number is 395. The old game still has a top prize remaining, so you may see those tickets in dispensers for a bit longer. Either way, you have a chance to win one of the $750,000 top prizes. Best of luck!

Hi I recently moved here from Maryland where I am an avid scratcher. I was hoping that you could upgrade your website by reflecting all of the available scratch tickets along with their payouts to include how many of the payouts are still available. Another useful piece of information is the date the ticket became available and the last date to cash in. Thanks

The person or persons who win more than one time are usually the ones who buy many many tickets and not just the two that won. Many spend hundreds per week and possibly more, so their chances of winning more than one time is greater. To blame NCEL for any losses or accredit wins is to say one has no idea how the lottery really works or the magnitude of tickets printed. If one fishes in a pond fully stocked with bass he will most likely catch one or more but if that pond only has a handful of bass then the chance of catching one is greater.

This lottery is unreal , cant believe the same person can win 100000$$$ or more 2 times on sratch offs. It's hard enuff to win tht once. But then again it is ncel. As much as ncel tries to say, tht he winners dnt come from same place , look at it, Durham wake county Nash stanly nah Thts not from the same area huh lol. Come back with your tepid response. Sorry to disappoint you but we don't have a tepid response, only facts to share. A lucky ticket can show up anywhere, anytime and it is a matter of pure luck. Ask a professor of statistics if you don't take our word for it; its not easier to win the lottery in a big place than in a small one, there are just more people playing for a chance to win in some places than others. That doesn't give anyone an advantage or disadvantage.

I posted this question on this blog a few days ago, in a little different way and it seems to have not made it on here. The Jr Big ole Bucks Game #299 no longer has any top prizes and there is another one #399 that has shown up, but on the NCEL site on the instant game page, the new #399 version is not there to show how many and what quantity of prizes are available. Why hasn't the old #299 game been pulled? NC Lottery
Game #399 has the new barcode that is on all NCEL tickets. Game #299 is not marked "ending" but if you look on that game's page, you will see that it is currently being picked up.

Hasn't Jr Big Ole Bucks been reissued with new prizes?? #399, The face has has changed, Win up to 10 times is on the banner under the name and was on the bottom and the prize amount switched places with that banner. The problem is on the web pages for the $2 instant games it is not showing. Only the old game #299, is showing with no big prizes left.

@ T10chute - Using the information odds card found at any lottery retailer its not hard to figure out. Below is "The Color of Money" game. (1152000 x 5) / 3.45 = winning tickets (1152000 x 5) - winners tickets = DUDS ...about 4,090,434 DUDS (based on card info) Total depends on how many tickets printed for any one game run. I use the ncel website once a game is launched. The prize count there is often slightly greater in count for more of an accurate number. So the number of DUDs will increase as well. GOOD LUCK!
