Adverse weather affects lottery claim center availability

Due to winter weather, our claim center in Wilmington will be closed today, Jan. 30. Our regional office and claims center in Greenville is scheduled to open at operate on a delayed schedule today, opening at noon.

Our Raleigh headquarters and regional offices and claims centers in Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte and Asheville will operate on a normal schedule, opening at 9 a.m. A list of locations and telephone numbers for the lottery’s regional offices can be found here.

Stay tuned to our blog for further updates. Above all else, stay safe out there! Don’t take chances with bad weather.

I would like to know how are winners picked in second chance drawing. NC Lottery
Lucky-Rewards and game-specific second-chance drawings are conducted using a random number generator, under the supervision of an auditor, according to specific security procedures. The results are random. Everyone with at least one entry has a chance to win.

Seems most of the big winners are from the triangle area. The deep east has very few big winners. NC Lottery
If you read our blog regularly, you'll see that we have winners from all different parts of the state. No player has an advantage or disadvantage when it comes to winning the lottery. There are just some places where more people are playing for a chance to win.

Anyone notice that it seems the scratch offs do not win as much as in the past? It's harder to come by a smaller denomination winner in the last 4-6 months. Me thinks they have changed the odds when you look at all the drawings they are doing now. NC Lottery
The lottery actually pays out a higher % on instant games than it did when the lottery began. You are right, though, that with some games, there are more prizes at higher levels. You can check out the prizes remaining for all games on our website. Good luck!

why do most of the winners come from the eastern part of the state from charlotte to the coast NC Lottery
Players west of Charlotte have the same chance of winning a prize as players in Charlotte or east of Charlotte. It's just that there are many more people taking a chance to win east of where you live. Again, that doesn't make it easier or harder for anyone to win the lottery. It's just a matter of the odds playing out more often.

When the new scratch tickets come out. Will you have more prizes on the 1,2,5 dollar tickets. That give people like me a chance to win something. I'm still waiting to go to one of the lottery claim centers.I can't afford to buy the larger scratch tickets.I'm on a fixed income.I get a lot of my tickets for the second chance lottery from friends who don't play second chance.Hoping to win something. The lower-price tickets almost always have longer odds of winning than the higher-price tickets; that's just the nature of the gaming world! We hope you enjoy playing for fun and hope you have good luck :)

The odds of winning depend entirely on how many entries all Lucke-Zone members make. For example, more than 121,000 entries were made into this week's Winning Wednesdays drawing. So it takes a lot of luck to win, but someone's going to! :)
