Exclusive $1 million drawing only two weeks away

In two weeks, on Friday, Oct 24, the N.C. Education Lottery will hold an exclusive $1 million drawing in conjunction with the first MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery game drawing.

The special drawing will guarantee that someone who buys a MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ticket in North Carolina will win $1 million in the first drawing of the new multi-state lottery game. The North Carolina $1 million prize will be in addition to any other prizes won in the new game during its first drawing.

The new multi-state draw game has the potential to create more millionaires at one time than any other lottery game in history when its Top Prize of up to $25 million is won.

Tickets for MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB game go on sale Sunday, Oct. 19, and cost $5. To get an entry in North Carolina’s special $1 million drawing, just buy a ticket during the game’s first week, between the first day of sales on Sunday and the cutoff for the first drawing, 10:15 p.m. on Friday.

We will announce the winning number on Friday, Oct. 24, shortly after the 11:15 p.m. drawing.

In the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game, a $5 ticket offers three ways for someone to win $1 million or more. Players can:

•    Win the Top Prize, which begins at $15 million and can rise to $25 million.
•    Become one of the many, randomly-selected $1 million winners when another player wins the Top Prize.
•    Register a ticket online where they will build MONOPOLY Property Sets to earn entries into a drawing for a chance to appear on the nationally televised game show beginning in early 2015. The show will have more than $2.5 million in available prize money on each episode.

When that Top Prize is won, a second drawing is triggered to award all the available $1 million prizes – anywhere from a minimum of 10 up to hundreds of $1 million winners simultaneously. The number of $1 million prizes grows every week the Top Prize is not won. Drawings will be held each Friday at 11:15 p.m. Odds of winning the game’s Top Prize will be 1 in 73 million.

To kick things off in a big way, we decided to hold the special one-time-only drawing to guarantee that someone who buys a ticket in North Carolina during those first six days will win $1 million. Good luck.

If you have multiple numbers registered for the balance of funds ($215,000) in the Monopoly drawing, can you win more than one prize if you have two or more numbers drawn? NC Lottery

It appears that someone won the Nov. 7th top prize. The number of Millionaire Club prizes was 14. I didn't see where the 14 winners were announced. The top prize was reset and the Millionaires Club was reset to 10. Did I miss the winners announcement?NC Lottery
Thanks for the question! Since MMC is a national game, the info we communicate about the game is focused on N.C. winners. But you can check out playmmc.com for more info about where the 14 prizes of $1 million were won in that drawing :)

I have a question .. If I buy a Monopoly ticket this week, and the top prize is not won. In this case, should I keep the ticket for the Millionaires Club draw?NC Lottery
We know there is a lot to learn about this new game! A Millionaires' Club drawing is ONLY held when the Top Prize is won... so, if the Top Prize isn't won, the Millionaires' Club number isn't a factor that week. The next step would be to enter your ticket here in the Lucke-Zone to add to your Property Collections to earn entries into the Vegas drawing.

Not at all, many lotteries across the country use random number generators for drawings, some for their daily draw games. As time goes on, you'll see more use of them :-)

As a relatively young lottery, that isn't something there are plans to add right now. But you never know in the future! In the meantime, we hope some of our games are ones you enjoy.

Sorry if we confused you. MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB is a draw game with a weekly drawings on Friday when the winning numbers will be picked. It is also a multi-state game with 23 state lotteries when it begins on Sunday, Oct. 19, and more joining in the spring. The first drawing is Friday, Oct. 24.Good luck.

No problem. It's a new multi-state draw game like Mega Millions, but with different features. You will choose five numbers from a pool of 52, either picking your own or doing a Quick Pick. The lottery terminal will automatically assign an additional number from 1 to 28, and this number corresponds to a Property on the MONOPOLY game board. Top Prize begins at $15 million and grows to $25 million. When Top Prize is won, a second drawing is held to award $1 million prizes. And you can win a trip to a TV show in the spring. "Odds of winning the game’s Top Prize will be 1 in 73 million." At $5 a ticket?! Too expensive for me! Sounds too much like Powerball and Megamillions. Plus, it sounds like no one gets a million UNLESS the top prize is won by someone. Even then, they're randomly selected tickets. Odds of Cash 5 are SO much better. I mean, a million dollars would be nice, but I can do a lot of good things with $50,000, too!

Quick question, why haven't you guys just create a state lottery. Five to six numbers, start at 250k and let it grow until someone hit. The monopoly is fine but it is 5.00 then you have to jump through all these hoops to win. NC Lottery
Great question! We do have Carolina Cash 5 and All or Nothing, which are just for North Carolinians. But we're always looking for new games to add!

It's a national game, similar to Mega Millions and Powerball. The main difference is people are playing those games for a huge jackpot, but this game is going to spread the wealth and make multiple millionaires all over the nation.
