New MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery game starts Sunday

This Sunday, Oct. 19, you can buy tickets in the new MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery game. Tickets bought the first week in North Carolina will be entered into an exclusive $1 million drawing by the N.C. Education Lottery.

The one-time drawing will be held on Friday, Oct. 24, the night of the first MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery drawing, to guarantee that someone who buys a ticket in North Carolina will win $1 million in the first drawing. The North Carolina $1 million prize will be in addition to any other prizes won during the new multi-state game’s first drawing.

A significant feature for the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game is how it will simultaneously generate multiple $1 million prizes. That feature is one that lottery players have been requesting.

“When the Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot gets huge, say $300 million or more, people always say to us: ‘Why does one person need hundreds of millions of dollars, why not just make hundreds of people millionaires,” said Alice Garland, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “That’s what the new MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game does.”

The game’s Top Prize will cap at $25 million. After that, instead of the amount of the Top Prize growing as sales continue across the country, the number of $1 million MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB prizes will accumulate.

The $5 ticket will offer three ways for someone to win $1 million or more. Players can:

•    Win the Top Prize, which begins at $15 million and can rise to $25 million.
•    Become one of the many, randomly-selected $1 million winners when another player wins the Top Prize.
•    Register a ticket in the lottery’s Lucke-Rewards players’ club to build MONOPOLY Property Sets to earn entries into a drawing for a chance to appear on a nationally televised game show. The show, which will start in early 2015, will have more than $2.5 million in available prize money on each episode.

The new game will help the Education Lottery meet its goal to raise more than half a billion dollars, $520 million, for education programs, this year.

Drawings will be held each Friday at approximately 11:15 p.m. Odds of winning the game’s Top Prize will be 1 in 73 million.

Although sales last year for games available through subscription were less than 1% of total sales of those games, we have had a $5,000 Lucky for Life winner, a $15,000 Mega Millions winner, a $20,000 Powerball winner, and a $149,970 Cash 5 jackpot winner. You have the same chance of winning playing through subscription as buying a ticket at a store. Good luck!

I have googled for a few hours now to see if there was indeed a winner in last nights monopoly drawing but cant find any info. Sorry you had so much trouble. Please check out our MONOPOLY pages on our website. Look under the Latest Numbers and Games tab and click on MONOPOLY. The national website for the new game is at www.playmmc.com. For Friday's drawing, no Top Prize was won so no drawing was held for the $1 million prizes. On Friday, Oct. 31, the Top Prize will be $18 million and an least 12 $1 million prizes available if the Top Prize is won.

Glad you're having fun playing the game! When you complete a Property Set, you automatically gain entry into the upcoming drawing for a chance to win the trip to Vegas. No additional action needed :-)

Dear Power Ball Jackpot Commission, tomorrow night the 22nd of October there will be a drawing to make someone the big winner of multi-mions of dollars perhaps, and under the present rules that means that single winner would win a very large sum of millions of dollars and that's okay, but if there would be multiple drawings for example have eleven drawings of $10,000,000.00 each, that would make a lot of multi-millionaires. I personally think that would draw more players in because the odds would be greater n their favor. But that's just my opinion, and it's because I am not a greedy type person, and for sure I would be more than happy to be a multi-millionaire even after paying the taxes. I appreciate your assistance in how to give opinions, and comments concerning the lottery process. In my opinion I think that a more popular way conduct lottery draws would be to split the multi-million amounts into multiple draws of for example if the Power Ball was at say $110,000,000.00, and the multiple draws at $5,000,000.00 each there would be an increase in players , in my opinion. For me, I'd be more than a little happy with $5,000,000.00 because even after taxes, I would still be a multi-millionaire!. Thats because I am not a greedy type person, and for me to know that many others would be multi-millionaires, that would make me happy for them as well as myself. I read in an earlier comment that the prize includes all taxes paid. Does that mean you win the total amount or the amount less the taxes?NC Lottery
In the case of merchandise prizes, like the one in the Home Theater Package drawing, the lottery usually designs the drawing so that winners get the merchandise with the taxes already paid. This does not apply to all lottery drawings, or cash prizes.

This 2nd chance drawing is very different then all the rest. You do not get an automatic entry into the contest with every ticket you enter. You have to complete a "set" to get an entry. Still all and all it seems to be a very fun contest. I am wrong in assuming you have to complete the entry board before you even have chance to win a chance to be on TV. One winner a month for 3 drawings , those are some really high odds to beat! I am going all in this week, scaling back on all other tickets for this week, cause that's the way Turbo rolls.

I see young children abusing the lottery ticket machines in stores quite often. For example, yesterday 2 little girls around 5 and 6 years old were repeatedly bashing the front of the machine with their toys. The parents were doing nothing, the store personnel were doing nothing. I told the little girls they could break the machine doing that. Their father said it was okay because his tax money would replace it. It is easy to see why these machines have mechanical problems frequently. Maybe more publicity about the lottery not being for children and parent accountability if they let their child damage lottery equipment would help. Possibly signs on each machine stating "Parents are liable for damage caused by their child as well as prosecution for allowing a minor to access the lottery" or something similar could be used.

THE RETAILERS IN SALISBURY ARE SLACK... I WENT TO THREE DIFFERENT CHAINS AND NONE OF THEM HAD THE MONOPOLY TICKETS OUT. Great question, WEAZ. You need a MONOPOLY set to get an entry into the drawing for the TV game show. So that selection needs to be random. Otherwise, you could just pick the properties that gave you the property sets you needed for more entries into the TV game show drawing.

When you enter your MONOPOLY ticket here in the Lucke-Zone, the Property on your ticket - plus a Bonus Property! - are added to your Property Collection. It's a fun way to get players more properties, so they can get closer to earning entries for the trip to Vegas, and another chance to win $1 million :-) Great question!

Well just went and bought 4 tickets to find out that I can't use them for the online game. The tickets don't have the full code printed out and I can't read one of the letters on all of my tickets. Now I'm locked out for 24 hours for to many wrong numbers! NOT VERY HAPPY! I even tried to call and no one to talk to till mon. NC Lottery
Make sure you are entering the Lucke-Rewards Entry Code, the third and final number on the ticket. If your efforts got you permanently locked out, please call Customer Service at 877 962-7529 and they will assist you. Game looks a bit complicated but we hope folks will get to like the additional features it has.

The nice surprise should be an entry in the drawing for the first TV game show. Check your ticket entry history. You should see the entry there.

Ive had it with buying scratchoff losers. Been trying to win for over a month now. It doesnt matter what you buy, where you buy them, or how many you buy. I'm amazed that this lottery is even legal.
