New game offers 20 wins of $1 million to $4 million

This coming First Tuesday was already going to be exciting thanks to the new Papa Johns instant game. But did you know that we're also launching one of the biggest games of the year on the same day?

The new $20 instant scratch-off game, $200 Million Blowout, gives players 16 chances to win $1 million and four chances to win $4 million instantly. The game features more than $200 million in overall prizes and more than 850,000 prizes from $50 to $5,000.

As you know, $20 games bring bigger prizes and better overall odds. We look forward to meeting the first new millionaire that this new game creates.

Two additional games will start to show up in stores on Tuesday:

The new $5 game, "$", features four $200,000 top prizes and more than 257,000 prizes from $20 to $100. Players who reveal a $50 symbol win a $50 prize instantly.

Want a chance to win $30,000 for just a couple of bucks? Aces & 8’s is a $2 game that offers more than 1 million winning tickets and six top prizes of $30,000.

Don't waste your money.. I bought 5 of these for stocking stuffers for my kid. Not one was a winner. Not even $5. What kind of incentive is that? I'm only buying lottery tickets from NY. Lots and lots more winners there.

I entered the $2,000 holiday shopping spree. The drawingf was on 12/03. How long does it take to find out if I am a winner? There are still 5 people to be notifiedNC Lottery
Typically winners are notified bye-mail within 48 hours of the drawing. If we don't hear back we call, if we don't get an answer we send certified mail. We can only announce a winner's name after he or she completes the claim process.

Also have had problems entering Golden 7' to the point I'very become gun shy concerning that game. Also, have had several instances where I made a mistake in entering the game number (errant keystroke due to Parkinson'so tremor) and the computer charges me with an erroneous entry as soon as it recognizes that there is no such game. Looks like I ought to get the chance to tap "ENTER" before I'm hit for an erroneous entry...NC Lottery

We post blogs about lucky winners, and there are many of them every day. But, as you know, with games of chance, it's always more likely that you won't win than that you will win - non-winning tickets are where prize money comes from. We hope you'll only play as long as you're enjoying yourself, knowing it takes a lot of luck to win!

Obviously at least two schools of thought: I disagree with Federati (10/11/2014 12:34), who only wants $20 tickets to "shoot for the moon"! The moon is great, but that's what draw games (PB MM CF) are for: a VERY slim chance at a VERY big prize! It's fun to dream about and better to win, but for MOST of us $250,000 is 6 to 16 YEARS of salary, HARDLY a "flash in the pan"! We could pay debts, start businesses, pay for a college education, contribute to groups doing good work, buy a home instead of burning rent, in short: CHANGE OUR LIVES (AND OTHERS')! I still agree with '100K-250K' original and recent comments (10/05/2014 06:20): "To me, the state lottery should be about your neighbors/average people catching a break. 5 grand, 10 grand, 25 grand." - EXACTLY! And we might spend a little more on a ticket if it gives us BETTER ODDS of CATCHING A BREAK! NCEL: offer both: "Shoot the Moon" tix AND "CATCH A BREAK" $20 tickets: top prize $200,000 FOR 160 WINNERS?!

I agree with Federati1, 16 second tier 1 million prize winners! 4 Grand Prize of 4 million! Would be nice to have that many top prize on the 5 dollars tickets too! Hope y'all reorder them when they get sold out! It's been a while since I have bought any scratch offs. Maybe break out on payday to pick up a ticket. Just won't be able to play PB,Cash5 on Wednesday. Trying to limit myself on how much I spend on playing lottery these days! Oi-I'd like to stand up for the NCEL here. The new $20 ticket is a grand idea-16 $1 million tickets this time around in addition to the 4 $4 million tickets. I'd like to argue against the $20 ticket with top prize of $25000 idea-there are plenty of $2 tickets that hammer the $25000-$50000 range. I love to buy these $20 tickets, but when I buy a $20 ticket I want it to shoot for the moon-$2 million top prize or more...that would set up a life-changing annuity, unlike $25000 which would be a flash in the pan...

I also been locked out from entering tickets due to many false entries. Sometimes it`s really hard to make out the #s or letters on the Pick3,4,etc. Sometimes the B`s look like 8`s and so on.A couple of times I had overlooked a small winner on the scratch offs and through entering it I found it .I don`t see that for a reason to lock me out for a few mistakes I made,I been doing this from the beginning wen these entries started and I never had any trouble before,it`s not like I`m doing this on purpose and some tickets I know I was right and still told me that it was wrong.Please helpNC Lottery

I wrote the post about 100-25k prizes. I appreciate luckezone for responding and I'm glad others agree. To me, the state lottery should be about your neighbors/average people catching a break. 5 grand, 10 grand, 25 grand.

i too have had problems with the golden 7's..it would not let me enter it and i know it was a losing ticket.i scanned it and it was not a winner and it would not let me enter it..NC Lottery
Thanks to players reporting it, technical customer service did determine there was an issue with entering tickets for that game, but it is fixed now. Sorry for the inconvenience

I agree with '100-25k', 'DAVE C', and 'PIZZAMIKE'! I DISAGREE with the assumption that the appeal of $20 tickets is a $4mil top prize! For me the appeal is is the higher odds of winning something (1 in 4). However, I'd wouldn't mind somewhat lower overall odds, if I could get better odds of winning a 'significant' prize! For the people who play scratch-offs, $100 (and up) IS SIGNIFICANT. Please listen to your customers; after all, you'll make money on every game one way or the other, so you might as well at least TRY to give your customers what they want. TRY some other options, and if they flop, they flop. Thanks!

I have been permanently locked out of Lucky Zone due to too many false entries. My Golden 7's were refused, although THEY WERE CORRECT. It was not due to carelessness that I entered them. Your Blog on 9-18-14 from a player stated that he had the same problem with the Golden 7's. I have called several of your phone numbers but none have the answer. @ PIZZAMIKE - All or Nothing is a different kind of game that pays out many prizes at levels with a chance to win the $250,000 top prize. It has been popular with many players for that reason, but if it's not your cup of tea that's cool :-) You might like the new MONOPOLY game starting Oct. 19: It has a big top prize PLUS lots of $1 million prizes instead of a giant jackpot that goes into the hundreds of millions. We have definitely had some lucky members win prizes in more than one Lucke-Rewards drawing. As time goes on, the more drawings we hold, the more likely it becomes that someone who has won before could win again. But every member's entries are created equal :-)

Neat idea; the Lucke-Zone wasn't built that way, but you could definitely set up your own blog using WordPress or another free option on the web. You can also "Like" our Facebook page; you can chat with other players there, too ;-)

I've been playing everything and it seems to me until I actually win something big, then I can say it's worth it. I know that the machine's compute the numbers you play and some will win and a lot will loose. My mom always says," You have got to be in it to win it", and I know that my be true. It's already hard to win the power ball, mega millions, cash 5, 3 and 4 digit and know North Carolina's lottery comes out with more games to play. So I've been in it and now I want to win it.

I hope this $20.00 ticket pays off better than the others. I bought 5 $20.00 tickets the other night and did not get a winner. I bought 10 of the Triple 7's, no winners. I spent $120.00 and got nothing for my money.NC Lottery

Always exciting to see new scratch off games being released! Though I must admit I prefer the "online" games (as I seem to have better luck)! Since its inception I have always wondered why the "Sum-It-Up" feature can't be played on its own? I think it would be a great enhancement to BOTH Pick 3 & Pick 4 if player's were allowed to play "Sum-It-Up" on its own! How 'bout it?!NC Lottery

Looking at the comments on the board I agree that all or nothing is a joke. Nobody has won the top prize yet and the jackpot does not grow like the other games. Why play? I also agree with the guy who would like to see lottery games with lower payouts and more prizes. In this day and age $5000- $25000 top prizes could help the average person. I really don't understand how NC allows these ridiculous odds that come with the lottery but are so opposed to casinos which could also benefit education.NC Lottery

Would love to see a $20 scratch game with prizes ONLY in the range of $100 to $25,000. Using Multiplier Spectacular as an example, if you put the 26 million from the top two prizes into a 25K top prize, you would have 1040 chances to win $25,000! On the low end you could put the nearly $78 million (combined total of prizes between $20-$50) into prizes of at least $100. You could have 370,000 $100 prizes, 60,000 $500 prizes, 11,000 $1,000 prizes, etc. You’d still have another 887 prizes from 2k-20k. I just want there to be more prizes that actually can affect people. Any prize less than double the ticket cost is just annoying. And I think people would be eager to play for a top prize of 25K knowing there were 1040 (you could go with an IRS/Tax theme!) of them out there. This would reduce the combined odds to 1:25, but wouldn’t people play knowing they’d at least have a shot a bigger prize?NC Lottery

Our $20 games are very popular, but we understand everyone has different taste, that's why in this blog we announced that $2 and $5 games are starting Tuesday as well :-) As for second-chance drawings, some games are designed to have more top prizes you can win instantly, others have large second-chance prizes.
