How to win a $1 million MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB Prize

The MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery game gets its name from the second of three ways to win. Every time the Top Prize is won, the game will instantly mint 10 or more additional millionaires. That’s why it is called the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB. Since this is the first week of the new game, we wanted to share more details about each way to win in a series of Lucke-Zone blogs. Today’s topic: How to win the $1 million MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB prize.

Every time you buy a MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ticket, you automatically receive a randomly-generated MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB Draw Number. It is the second number you see on your ticket and it will begin with an “NC”.

When the game’s Top Prize is won, a second drawing is immediately held for winning numbers for the MILLIONAIRES Club prizes. Here’s what is cool about this feature of the game. The number of $1 million MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB prizes starts at 10, but grows each week that the Top Prize is not won. Once the Top Prize hits $25 million, it stops rolling so that more MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB prizes can be added from the additional sales.

With Powerball and Mega Millions, the additional sales each week when a jackpot is not won add to the size of the jackpot. With the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB game, the growth will be in the number of $1 million prizes. We expect dozens of $1 million prizes when the Top Prize is hit, but it could be a hundred or more.

In designing the game this way, lotteries responded to what they hear a lot from players when the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots get huge. Players would ask, “Why does one person need hundreds of millions of dollars? Why not just make hundreds of people millionaires?” That’s what the new MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game does.

So we’re looking forward to the night when the Top Prize is won and a big shower of $1 million prizes rains down on folks across the country. That’s why you keep hearing the new game is about making more and more millionaires.

One key thing to remember is your MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB draw number is valid only for the draw date specified on your ticket. That holds true even if the Top Prize is not won that week and no MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB prizes are awarded.

The MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB number is unique to your ticket so you will not share the $1 million prize with anyone else. It is possible, however, for someone to win the Top Prize and a $1 million prize.

We look forward to meeting North Carolina’s first members of this exclusive club. To welcome members to the club, they will each get their own Top Hat, the icon for the game, in a customized hat box.

Because the Top Prize was not won, none of the $1 million club prizes were won either. As it stands the new Top Prize is $21 million for Friday night and, if somebody wins it, then *14* prizes of $1 million will be won, too! I need some clarification. Because the top prize wasn't won on 10/31/2014, I keep my ticket or tickets for the millionaire club draw number. If the top prize is won on 11/7/2014, there will be a draw of how many millionaires created and after that draw those tickets are no longer valid after the top prize was won. I know on October 24th it was only an exclusive one time draw to get the ball rolling. In other words, keep your tickets until the top prize has been won and after that they are no longer valid for the next top prize drawing.NC Lottery
Another good/important question. The answer is that an MMC ticket is valid for one drawing only. If the Top Prize isn't won, then the $1M club prizes aren't awarded either, and the next step is to enter your ticket in the Lucke-Zone to boost your Property Collections for entries into the Vegas trip drawing. After that, you'd need a "fresh" ticket for the next drawing :-)

The beauty of it is that the $1 million club prizes are totally independent of the Top Prize.. which means, Friday night, someone could win the $21 million Top Prize, and - on top of that! - $14 prizes of $1 million will be won, too :-0

Does the state the ticket was purchased in matter? While in TN on business I purchased 3 tickets. When I tried to enter the webcode I received an error message that the code was not valid. NC Lottery
Yes. We can only handle MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB tickets purchased in North Carolina. You should be able to go to the national site at www.playmmc.com, click on the Play Now tab, and then click on Tennessee on the map, and enter your Tennessee tickets there. Hope that works for you. I was in a store today and noticed a sign that said there was a $20.00 minimum purchase required, to use a debit card, to purchase lottery tickets. I didn't question it, since I was using cash. But, I do know that store always uses a separate register for lottery purchases, so I'm fairly certain the sign wasn't referring to the total purchase (gas plus lotto, for example) made. Can a retailer set minimums like that? NC Lottery
That is not a requirement of the lottery. So it would be a requirement made by the owner of the store. We have about 6,800 retail locations in the state where lottery tickets are sold. So if you don't like one store's policy, please find a store near you that you find more accommodating.

What's cool is that your board doesn't reset... as you complete your Property Collections, they gain you entries into the drawing for a chance to go to Las Vegas and possibly play for $1 million... however slow or fast you complete the Property Sets is up to you, and good luck!

The drawing for the first set of shows is Dec. 2 with winners arriving in Las Vegas on Jan. 8. The entry deadline for the drawing will be Nov. 25.

On your first ticket entry, you should have received a Bonus Property via the Community Chest. Just to get you started on the right foot :-)

We are required to buy Lotto tickets with cash or now I see we can use debit cards so why is it that a retailer that can pay a prize up to $599 is not required to pay that amount in cash they give you $100 in cash and then pay the rest of the win in a money order does not seem fair.NC Lottery
We encourage retailers to pay out in cash up to $599, but we cannot require them to doso. We suggest going to a grocery store or location that will pay out the way you want. You also have the option of coming to one of our regional offices or mailing your claim to us :-)

Thanks for the chance to clarify. The answer in the FAQ means that a duplicate property can be used to complete another Property Set for that color group.. not move it to another group.

I entered my lucke rewards number on my Ipad and went to the page to display my Monopoly property (rotated iPad as requested), but no property was listed. Debits cards can be used to buy lottery tickets in N.C. You cannot use a credit card to buy lottery tickets.

In reference to the "errors" question above - is there a time limit on which errors are accumulated before lockout? Example...after 6 months - does the count of errors start at zero? I have trouble reading some of the numbers too..B's and 8's and D's and 0's in particular. And will a locked account be opened once the # of errors increases? If not, can you open a new account after 90 days of lockout? NC Lottery

Would NCEL consider being more lenient when it comes to errors when entering draw tickets? We are locked out when the error count reaches 500, however, it should be taken into consideration that many times the tickets print out so light that it is impossible to distinguish between 3's & 8's, F's & P's, B's & 8's, C's & 0's, and D's & 0's. NC Lottery
Yes. We are raising the limit to 750 and we are working on other solutions that would make entry easier and keep the system secure too. Thanks for your patience with this.

In the first drawing on Friday, the Top Prize was not won so no drawing for the $1 million prizes was held. In the second drawing this coming Friday, the Top Prize will be $18 million and there will be 12 $1 million prizes available if the Top Prize is won.

Yes. In addition to the Top Prize and the $1 million prizes, there are nine other ways to win. For instance, if you match 2 of the first 5 numbers you win $5. Good question. The game has its own website. Here is the URL. https://www.playmmc.com/ It will have info on drawings too. The $1 million prizes are only awarded when the Top Prize is won. So when that happens, if you want to see what states winners of the $1 million prize are from, you could check there.

To win the Top Prize, you must match five number and the Property Name/Number, so six matches in all. There are other prizes available. For instance, you win $5 for matching two of the first five numbers and $100,000 for matching the first five numbers. Good luck.

Sorry to see that long face. The Lucke-Rewards Entry Code only has zeroes. So don't use the letter "O", just use zeroes.

If you have a match, you bring your ticket to lottery headquarters and we will pay you your prize. Good question, that's something lots of players want to know. All you have to do is enter your ticket once here in the Lucke-Zone, and you'll automatically have your Property Collections updated. When you complete a collection, you automatically gain an entry into the drawing for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas :)

If you buy a MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB ticket on Friday, Oct. 24, before 10:15 p.m., the ticket will be for the Friday night drawing. Ticket sales for the Oct. 24 drawing will close at 10:15 and reopen afterward for the next week's drawing. Good luck!

The rules don't prohibit a Lucke-Zone member from entering and winning in more than one drawing! Before his win in the 10/15 drawing, Mr. Johnson won $2,500 on 4/24/13 and $400 on 4/3/13.
