Two players came to lottery headquarters this week to claim six-figure lottery prizes.
We start with Willie Murphy of Fayetteville. He said he felt pretty lucky back in July when he scratched his way to “I thought that was my win,” said Murphy, a 28-year Army veteran who now works as a civilian employee for the Department of Defense. But it wasn’t. He Quick Picked the winning numbers for the Nov. 13 Cash 5 drawing to win the $130,813 jackpot.
In Brunswick County, Beverly Hall of Leland won the top prize of $150,000 playing the Golden 7's instant game. “I’ve always wanted to know the relief of paying off my house and now I can do just that,” said Hall, who owns and operates a residential and commercial cleaning business. “I’m going to use whatever is left over to make it a very merry Christmas. This is a real blessing.”
