Twelve lottery winners headed to Vegas for chance to win $1 million

Twelve lucky lottery winners in North Carolina are preparing to travel to Las Vegas next month for a chance to appear on the first MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery television game show.

The players were randomly selected as trip winners after submitting their MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB tickets into a second-chance drawing that’s part of the new game. Each gets a five-day, four-night trip to Las Vegas, where TV game show episodes will be taped. While there, they will stay at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Each will be in the audience for three episode tapings and will have a chance to be randomly selected as a contestant on the show. Each episode will offer the potential of more than $2.5 million in prizes. The TV game show will feature Billy Gardell of “Mike and Molly” as host and will be taped at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

The North Carolina trip winners were:

•    Ronnie Hobbs of Concord

•    Mike Syfrett of Eastover
•    Anette Roberts of Aurora
•    Bernie Sakmar of Charlotte
•    Linda Harding of Fayetteville
•    Beverly Jacobsen of Lake Junaluska

For some, the winning of the trip will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Never in my dreams did I think I would go to Vegas and never in my dreams did I think I would get a chance to be on a TV game show,” said Laws, who works in a factory in Morganton.

Lawson said: “Always wanted to go, but I have not had the opportunity or the extra money to go.”

The next deadline for entries for a trip and a shot at being a contestant is Jan. 6 and the drawing will be conducted on Jan. 13. Entries are void after each drawing.

You can earn an entry into the drawing pool after completing MONOPOLY-themed Property Sets by submitting codes from their MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game tickets at the Lucke-Zone.com.

The MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game went on sale Oct, 19 and features three ways to win $1 million: in the Friday drawing for the Top Prize, which is capped at $25 million; in the $1 million Club drawings that will occur when the Top Prize is won; and on the TV game show. Tickets are $5 each. Currently, MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game tickets are available in 23 states around the country.

This Friday’s drawing offers a Top Prize of $25 million. If the Top Prize is won, a second drawing will award 18 $1 million prizes to tickets bought for this week’s drawing.

Do not get rid of the monopoly millionaires club game just consider adjusting the prizes and ticket cost powerball is $2 mmc is $5 for a play slot but I think the $5 covers what you play and the online monopoly board setup with the graphics and all take some of the design away from the game I mean the same game as a board game lasted for years with no change to pieces or the board look and design we are all adults it don't take disney effects to have us gravitate towards a game of chance price tickets at $3 equal alot more players HAVE HAPPY NEW YEAR NCEL

I read the message about halting sales on the Monoply Millionaires game. I agree that there should be more winners then just one. It would for sure help out more people and increase sales. I think this should go for the Power Ball and Mega Millions games, too. I have an idea for this, but do not know where to submit the idea. Can someone tell me? Thanks NC Lottery

It seems tob e easier to win when I drive north across state lines. I average a 35% return on my money over 8 years.Odds are definately better in othyer states.

i want to know why i never see any winners in your drawings from onslow county? also when you post winner to be announced after you pick them. how come you dont post there name? maybe if they see there name they will call. they might have missed the email or callNC Lottery
An entry made in Onslow County has as good a chance of winning as an entry made anyplace else! There are just lots of entries being made in other places, too. We can't post a winner's name until he or she responds to our notification AND completes the claim process.. because technically a person isn't a winner until they claim. If we don't get a reply by e-mail we try calling and sending certified mail if necessary.

You should get an email on Wednesday or Thursday if the drawing is held Wednesday. For the Vegas trips, we are actually calling the winners and then immediately sending the email because they only have 10 days to respond before we go to alternatives.

I have entered many contests with my non winning tickets and have not won anything. I am starting to think this is just a contest where winners are selected and not at random. NC Lottery
