Since announcing that sales in the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery game will be put on hold after Dec. 26, several players have asked about the status of the trips to Las Vegas for the chance to win $1 million on the new TV game show.
The trips and the chance to be on the TV game show is one of three ways to win $1 million in the game. You can also win the Top Prize, which is $25 million tonight as an annuity or $15.8 million as a lump sum. Or, if the Top Prize is won, you could win one of the 20 $1 million prizes that would be awarded.
The next drawing for the trips to Las Vegas will proceed as scheduled on Jan. 13. Players of the game use the Lucke-Reward Entry Code on their tickets to collect MONOPOLY properties and complete a Property Set on their MONOPOLY board. When a Property Set is complete, players get entries into the drawing. All the new entries and any entries already made since the last drawing will be valid.
Here is a quick recap of the key dates relating to the game:
• Friday, Dec. 26. Sales in the current format of the game will be put on hold across the country. Players can continue to win prizes in the remaining drawings – tonight, Dec. 19, and on the 26th. Tickets in the game will be sold until the cutoff for its final weekly drawing scheduled at this time. The cutoff will occur at 10:15 p.m. on the 26th.
• Tuesday, Jan. 6. Deadline to enter the second TV game show drawing.
• Tuesday, Jan. 13. Drawing held to determine winners of the second trip to Las Vegas and the chance to win $1 million on the TV game show. Those trips are scheduled for Feb.19-23.
Also, the initial tapings of the TV game show are going forward as scheduled. So our game-show trip winners scheduled to travel next month to Las Vegas will attend as planned, Jan. 8-12. North Carolina is sending 12 lottery players on the first trip. Read about those winners here.
