Prize claim deadline nears

We just wanted to give you a quick reminder that a deadline to make claims for 13 instant scratch-off games is Thursday, Dec. 4. Under NCEL policy, all instant game prizes must be claimed within ninety (90) days of the announced end-of-game date.

Claims under $600 can be made at a lottery retailer before midnight on Dec. 4. Claims of $600 up to $99,999 must be made at one of the six regional claim centers before 5 p.m. that day while claims of $100,000 and above must be made at NCEL headquarters before 5 p.m. on that day as well. Claims that are mailed to the NCEL must be received within 90 days of the official end of game date and postmarks will not satisfy the 90-day requirement.

Can someone please explain why so many games end with at least one or two of the top prizes haven't been won for SO many instant scratch offs? Shouldn't the NC Lottery keep them in circulation until they are won? It doesn't seem ethically fair? It also suggests that many of the top prizes are even in circulation. It suggests the odds are even worse than what you think. Can the N C lottery have transparency on this issue as it is paid for and benefits NC residents like myself? NC Lottery
Thanks for your question. The top prizes remaining aren't the only thing that dictates whether or not a game is ended. The game's popularity and sales have an effect, as well. If a game isn't performing well in stores, it sometimes makes sense to end it and replace it with something new. Thanks for playing!

I can't understand how 1 and 9 are part of the pick4 as much as it is.If you go back over the past numbers it is astonishing the amount of times those two numbers are there.I understand random and that's not random.

Compared to the state I moved from NC's scratch off prizes are terrible. I was always winning $5 or $10 from the other state. I have to spend 3x the money to get that return. So, I don't buy as often.

Games of chance can be fun, but there's never a guarantee of winning. So if you aren't enjoying yourself it might be good to take a break. We appreciate our players very much but there are lots of things in life more important than games of chance, so please take care.

How do you notify winners? What happens if you don't answer an email? Do you send a letter to address on record to notify winners? I get a lot of spam email and unknown phone calls, so I hope you are notifying winners by US Mail!NC Lottery
First we send an e-mail notification to the address associated with a winner's Lucke-Zone account. If we don't hear back, we call. If we don't get an answer, we send certified mail.

How can you guys sleep at night! Dont you pay attention to the comments from players who have not been winning for months. Its not bad luck because they dont have much of a chance with all the losing tickets being printed. EVERYBODY cant have bad luck!NC Lottery
Hey there. We are hearing that you're frustrated. Please keep in mind that some weeks, players across the state win as much as $20 million or more in prizes. We understand folks play for a chance to win, but not all lottery tickets can be winning tickets - that's where the prize money comes from! Good luck to you :)

Why can't the "ALL or NOTHING game results be viewed by actual floating balls just like the CASH 5,PICK 3 and PICK 4. That would be actually more fair to the players. I want to see the ball drawn. I'm a true skeptic of the results of this game.NC Lottery
A drawing done with a random number generator (RNG) is just as fair to players as one that uses a ball machine. Come to HQ to watch a drawing sometime :)

I would like to know when the final drawing for the Ceaser's Palace second chance drawing will happen? I Played that game religiously over the Summer and Fall to NO avail. I was hoping to win a Honeymoon Vacation for my soon to be wife and I. We've never been to Las Vegas but we would love to elope and have an awesome memory to look back on for the rest of our lives. Winners' names are announced only after they respond to notification AND complete the claim process. That sometimes takes weeks.

What time do they draw for the second chance winners?NC Lottery
Unlike the daily drawings for Pick 3, All or Nothing etc., or weekly drawings like Powerball, MONOPOLY, etc., the Lucke-Rewards drawings are not scheduled for a particular time of day, only a particular day. They are done when security, audit and draw staff are available to follow the draw procedures. For a drawing held on Wednesday, winners are typically notified no later than 5pm Friday. Good luck!

Please explain to me the use of the 18 digit code found on the pick (3,4 & 5 etc.) lottery tickets .The capture "enter at lucke- zone .com /rewards " appears above said number . In keying in these tickets on the Second chance entry ,it is desirous to use this number for its ease it would be to key in.NC Lottery
The Lucke-Rewards code is a 20-digit number. The other number is just an ID number for the ticket.

U know what makes me sad? I have been playing Jingle Bingo Bucks A LOT and I've only won two $3, one $5, and one $10 ticket! THAT'S ALL?!
