Lottery players across the state won more than $28.6 million in prizes this week and over the Thanksgiving holidays. Overall, instant scratch-off players in North Carolina won more than $20.5 million in prizes since Tuesday, Nov. 25. During that time, players of draw games won $8.1 million.

Tis the season to win big prizes...James Glasscock, a retired bank worker from Charlotte, plans to use the $150,000 prize he won playing the Jumbo Jingle Bucks game to save for the future and share with his children. He is the first player to win the game’s top prize since it went on sale Nov. 4.

Down in the eastern part of the state, Elizabeth City resident Floyd Johnson plans to use the $100,000 he won playing the Crossword 10X game to pay bills and add a bit more joy to his holiday season. He scratched off the lucky $5 ticket on Friday after purchasing it at the Murphy USA on Tanglewood Parkway in Elizabeth City.
