Panthers fan scratches his way to $10,000 win

It may be the football off-season, but that didn’t stop a Panthers fan in Gaston County from scoring a big lottery win.

Paul Johnson, a steel fabricator from Dallas, North Carolina, won $10,000 instantly playing the $120 Million Cash game.

He purchased his lucky ticket at the Triple E Express & Grill on North Bessemer City Road in Gastonia. Johnson said he was shocked when he realized he won $10,000.

As he claimed his winnings at the lottery’s regional claim center in Charlotte, Johnson said he would use some of his prize money to pay bills and go to dinner to celebrate.

We’d like to congratulate Paul Johnson – and the Carolina Panthers – on their winning ways!

There is the old Jumbo Bucks game #198 which is being picked up; the re-order of Jumbo Bucks #395 is being distributed. You can check the remaining prizes for both game numbers on our website.

So the Panthers (a NC NFL team) will let SC have a scratch off but not the state that they are based out of? Well, lets see if we can get a COWBOYS scratch off. Panthers ain't worth a pussy cats meow anyways. NC Lottery
While the Panthers stadium is in Charlotte, the team represents both North and South Carolina. Not to get into too big a sports debate with you, but we're pretty sure the Cowboys were at home watching the Panthers compete in the playoffs this year ;-)

Thanks for the question. The NC Lottery has talked to the Panthers about doing a ticket with them before, but so far - as you have observed - it hasn't happened. You never know!

Why does jumbo bucks have the new bar code yet the card hasn’t reloaded with prizes? Was the entire run of jumbo bucks not printed at the time the card was introduced for sale? How do you know what kind of prizes to put include when you do an additional run to an already existing card? NC Lottery
The old Jumbo Bucks tickets have been in the process of being pulled; when the game is reordered, it is a duplicate of the previous game with the same number of prizes at each level, etc.
