Carolina Cash 5 leads to big prizes this week

Lottery players in North Carolina won more than $17.7 million in prizes since last Thursday, including wins of $10,000 to $100,000 across 14 towns and cities. During that time, players of instant scratch-off games won more than $14.2 million. Players of draw games won more than $3.5 million in total prizes.

The two largest wins of the week came in the Carolina Cash 5 game. Benjamin Rochelle of Jacksonville said "This is very exciting" as he collected his $100,342 Cash 5 prize on Thursday afternoon.

Theodore Huntley of Charlotte, a regular lottery player, said it felt good to win the $85,057 jackpot in the May 24 Cash 5 drawing. He purchased the lucky ticket at the Circle K on N.C. 49 in Mount Pleasant.

The biggest scratch-off winner of the week was Tania Williams of Edenton who won $25,000 playing Scoop the Cash. She plans to use her winnings to share with her family.

Laura Harris of Candor ($200,000 Grant)
Joseph Isenhour of Catawba ($4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular)
Narinder Singh of Clayton ($4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular)
Edgar Velazquez of King ($2,500 a Week for Life!)

As you know, most lottery tickets are not winning tickets, which makes it possible for there to be multiple non-winning tickets in a row. Sometimes it just takes one ticket to win. So we wish you the best of luck!

My wife and I play a lot. I'm from Haywood County and I've won $500 dollars three times. My wife has won $500 once and a thousand once but last week she bought one $5 dollar ticket and won $5000 dollars. So you can't win if you don't play. Good luck to everyone and play on North Carolina.

There's nothing the lottery can do about that on our end. Maybe your e-mail program has a function that allows you to mark particular e-mail contacts that should not be considered junk mail.

Speaking of EZ Match, I have also been playing since it has started and nothing. As I search around for wining numbers that has come out in other states, my numbers are always playing in some of these states but NC, no way. Four of my cash five numbers have come out in another state but never in NC. Just watching the circle of repeats on pick 3 just amazing, so many non winning numbers have yet to come out.NC Lottery
There are 42 state lotteries plus DC and the US Virgin Islands. If we conducted 44 or 88 additional Pick 3 drawings per day, there would be 44 or 88 more opportunities for you to win here in North Carolina, too. But we only hold two drawings per day, for two chances to win. Good luck to you!

Buckfever, The limit for ticket entry to 2nd chance is 75 per day, If they are all $20 dollar tickets that is a minimum of 1500 points per day one can get from entering times 30 day is 45 thousand points. Then many tickets pay double or up to 200 points so this would be around Fifty thousand points one could get and maybe more.If an entry cost 10 points then one could easily have 5000 entries in a drawing. It makes their odds a bit better , but a person with only one entry could have the winner. Dig for the throw aways and you may hit yet! I've not but am still digging!

We don't have specific winners to name for EZ match prizes, because all the prizes are less than $600, which means they can be claimed at a lottery retailer.

i want to say the weekly drawings for scratch off tickets is bull my wife has put our entries in for 4 years and that is about 65 in a week which is 650 points.which is hard work and time and we have never won a dime.i was raised hard work pays off but with this its not true.and i have bought 90 percent of those ticket and some digging throw the trash.thats a shame that we never win nothing.NC Lottery
