Tuesday brings jackpot-themed games with more than $87 million in prizes

This Tuesday brings five new instant scratch-off games that offer players chances to win prizes from $10,000 to $1 million. Four of the new games make up the new “Jackpot” suite of instant scratch-off tickets. Players who reveal a “Jackpot” symbol on any of the games wins every prize shown on their ticket.

The new $10 game, $1,000,000 Jackpot, begins with more than $49.5 million in total prizes and six top prizes of $1 million.

$200,000 Jackpot is a $5 game that starts with six top prizes of $200,000 and more than $23.6 million in total prizes.

$50,000 Jackpot, a $2 game, begins with more than $8.9 million in total prizes and six top prizes of $50,000.

The $1 game, $10,000 Jackpot, begins with 10 top prizes of $10,000 and more than $5.2 million in total prizes.

One additional game, called Casino Crossword, launched on July 16. The $3 extended-play game began with five top prizes of $50,000 and an extra bonus scratch area that gives players the chance to win $50 instantly.

Quite disappointed that my first post on this website, in response to this blog entry, failed to appear. It was an entirely positive, upbeat comment re: my opinion that the odds of winning are equally as good here in my small town as they are in larger communities, or any given area. Several friends here in my lil' town have won large amounts on scratch-offs, including an Aunt who won the top prize on a Ruby Red. I understand and accept that state lotteries are games of luck, chance & odds; I play for fun as well as for the chance of winning, grateful for any prize amount--and I play in order to contribute to the education of our youth, who will someday soon make positive contributions to our society. Jason. The entry period for State Fair ticket will be back up Sunday, Aug. 17, the day it was supposed to start. The entry site was prematurely posted earlier this week. But we checked and anyone who entered the drawing when it was up briefly will have their entries in the drawing when it is held. So check back Sunday if you would like to do more entries with your Lucke-Reward points. Good luck to you.

We will first notify you by email using the email you provided when you joined the Lucke-Zone. If we don't get a response within two business days, we will try calling you. After 14 days with no response, we will send you a letter.

No. Nobody's entries are "screened." Lucke-Rewards drawings are like any other kind of drawing, more entries give you more chances to win, but never a guarantee. Having even ONE entry in a drawing gives you a chance to win. Good luck!

LZ, I checked the lottery scratch ticket and it has a second tier prize of 25,000 dollars. All the rest of 5 dollar tickets had 10,000 dollar prizes..I say that's good to have a higher 2nd tier prize on a ticket! Good Luck all...

@EARL2212 - This month is the first month that the lottery started distributing tickets the day before the First Tuesday launch. Many times on this blog and on the player hotline, players were unhappy that they would go to stores on First Tuesday and the tickets weren't available yet. A majority of retailers weren't getting the ticket until that Tuesday afternoon, which meant lots of players were disappointed they couldn't get tickets. This is the best option to make more tickets available at more stores on First Tuesday. As for the second part of your comment, you are welcome to go back and read the stories of our winners, you will see that there is a lot of variety when it comes to their financial situation. Also, out of respect for people, the lottery may or may not emphasize a winner's financial situation in its stories about them.

Just won my first ticket for the 200,000 Jackpot! Paid 5 bucks and won my 5 bucks back! Better than losing it! Looking good for me, so I might have to keep on buying them. I Only get one at a time! Re: Getting new tickets to all retailers on first Tuesday. I don't how NCEL ships tickets to retailers but one way to make sure all retailers get the new tickets on same day is to ship via express mail. You can use overnight delivery and ship on Monday or two-day express and ship on Sunday. My question is why aren't all retailers required to stock the new tickets when they debut. Several places are slow to stock the new tickets and they have room in the display case to do so. Others will stock only 1 or 2 of the new tickets and not all 3. When new tickets debut, all retailers should be required to stock all of them. If they don't have room in their display case, they should return some older tickets to NCEL in order to make room.

Unlike drawings that use ball machines like Pick 3 or Powerball, Lucke-Rewards drawings are not set for a particular time of day but rather when the proper staff is available to conduct the drawing using a random number generator. Always under the supervision of an auditor, according to specific security procedures.

Lucke-Rewards winners are notified within 48 hours of a drawing, which for a drawing on Wednesday usually means by 5pm Friday.

these tickets went on sale before tuesday. i went online tuesday and saw that people had already won money. what's up with that. i really don't trust you. that.s why i fill the games are already "FIX".everybody that wins have a good job. have not heard a RAGS to RICHES story yet. even had several people from the north to come down here and win. somethings wrong. and just think about it you are coming up on the tenth year. I will try all the new Jackpot games. After all these are low cost per ticket with a big jackpot. Ten dollars for 1 ticket is much better than $20 per ticket for a big payout.

I have been playing nc lottery since it began, 3 digit, 4 digit cash 5, scratch offs $ 1. 2,5, 10,20 and my winnings amount to less than $ 200.00 and I play everyday that I can afford to. I got 2 $ 20.00 tickets and won nothing. I don't believe winning tickets are in small towns. I don't believe it' planned but something stinks.NC Lottery
The reality of playing lottery games is that most tickets don't win prizes. Its definitely something to do as a form of entertainment because it takes a lot of luck to win!

I keep asking how many NON-Winning tickets are there in each ticket---i.e. $20 tickets---we know how many are winners, but the non-winners have to support the winners, so how many dummies are printed:)) BTW, what % pay out are the scratch tickets, say vs SC/VA?NC Lottery
The NCEL publishes the odds of winning prizes at every level, which is all the information you need to figure out how many tickets win prizes at each level, and how many don't. Different scratch tickets pay out at different percentages, you are welcome to use the information on our website and compare it to information published by other state lotteries.

I enjoy the crossword but not a fan of the new one. to hard to find letters without revealing the three letters which tell you whether you have won or not. I play a lot and it is just being at the right place at the right time. but I still think the lottery knows where the big winners are at.

I'm with "TEE"....NONE. I still play Pick 4 but when I get the urge for scratch offs I go to South Carolina. The games turn over in months not years and all the winners are out in play -- NOT sitting in a warehouse in Raleigh. Not to worry though, with reciprocal laws, NC will still get the tax benefit if I ever get lucky in SC...

So there are some areas of the state where you can play new games before retailers in other areas can sell them. That appears to give larger metropolitan players an advantage over more rural players. They should change the commercial to "first Monday instead of first Tuesday"NC Lottery
The logistics of distributing millions of tickets to 6,800 retailers means that not all new games will be immediately available everywhere all at once. No player has an advantage or disadvantage, because nobody knows where a winning ticket will show up. We've had plenty of major instant scratch-off winners from rural areas of the state. In fact, the luckiest two-time winner ever is from a small town in Rutherford County.

Already found $200,000 Jackpot available in the machine at my local Food Lion. The card I purchased was not a winner, so I tried to enter it for points. As soon as I enter 405 as the game number (the first field), the website displays an error.

It takes a lot of luck to win a prize playing games of chance. Think about where the prize money comes from - it comes from non-winning tickets. That's why a game gives you the chance to win so much more than the price of the ticket. But, again, that takes luck!
