Vietnam Veteran from Randolph County lands $10,000 prize

After scratching off $10,000 instantly, Harvey Vaughn Jr. of Trinity said he was going to put his prize money in the bank.

Vaughn, a retired Vietnam Veteran, claimed his winnings at the lottery's Greensboro claim center on Thursday. There, he said he felt happy and blessed to win.

Vaughn bought two tickets for the $120 Million Cash ticket at the TMM2 store on N.C. 311 in Archdale. One of them turned out to be worth $10,000. Click here for more winners in the game.

Dear Lottery Board Of Directors, Today 9/20/14 the PowerBall is at $196,000,000,00, and if you would have 39 Draws at $5,000,000.00 each you would expand the number of Million Dollar winners , and this would draw more players. Right now if only one Ticket is drawn for a winner the odds are just too high, and is not really fair for all who play to win. I think $5,000,000.00 is a lot of money, and this promotion would mean that a lot of states would have winners. This is my opinion! Have a great weekend. H.L. JenkinsNC Lottery

I think All or Nothing is a fun game to play. I still prefer Pick 3 and Pick 4. But I play a few lines every draw cause who knows? I might just hit the $250,000 one day! All it takes is a smile from Lady Luck :) And a $2 ticket :) GOOD LUCK FELLOW PLAYERS!!!!

I am concerned that the spam filter will catch an e-mail from the lottery if I should win second chance, especially if you use terms like "winner" or "prize" in the subject line. Do the winner e-mails come from the same e-mail address as the e-mails when we use points to enter drawings, and what is the subject line?NC Lottery
Don't worry, if we don't hear back from a winner via e-mail, we call. But e-mails come from the domain "lotterync.net" so you could try adding that to your "safe sender" list. Good luck!

Although the top prize hasn't been hit so far, lots of other prizes are being awarded.. last week players won more than $400,000! The way the game works, its only a matter of time until we have our first ALL or NOTHING winner of $250,000 :-)

First congratulations to the veteran very happy for him. Just bought 10 of the $20 4,000,000 spectacular 9 were losers, 1 was a break even. Same last week, out of 20 tickets only 6 tickets were winners (and no big prize). Have played this game ALOT in past 2 months and odds of winning have definitely not what is stated. Anyone else finding this to be the case?

One of the cool things about All or Nothing is that lots of players win smaller prizes, with the chance to win $250,000... all for just $2 per play! Last week, All or Nothing players won $403,850 :-)

I was hoping that the "all or nothing" game would be easier to win... but wow know one has won the big prize yet and very few a day win $500. is it just not a popular game to play?NC Lottery
All or Nothing has been popular so far, the prize structure is just set up differently from other draw games. If you compare the odds and prize amounts, you'll find that the overall odds of winning something are better than, say, Cash 5; but the odds of winning $500 are longer than, say, Pick 3. The big difference being, you don't automatically have a chance to win $250,000 in every drawing for those games - but you do in All or Nothing. So it's just another way to play. We're looking forward to our first $250,000 winner!!

E-mail notifications are typically sent within 48 hours of a drawing. But sometimes, for staffing reasons, it can take longer. In any event, we can only announce a winner's name after he/she responds AND completes the claim process, which can take days or weeks. We will share the info as soon as we can.
