This week's biggest winners played Cash 5, scratched off lucky tickets and entered a second-chance drawing to get their prize money.
Of more than 601,282 entries made by Lucke-Zone members into the Hot Summer second-chance drawing, the lucky one to win $150,000 belonged to Annette Bell of Lexington. “I was hoping that one day I’d win a big drawing but I never really thought that I would,” Annette Bell said. “I feel so blessed and lucky. This is just awesome.”
The biggest win of the week went to Jeanette Tyler, a debt collector from Durham, who said she’s going to live a little more comfortably after winning $313,045 playing Carolina Cash 5. “This is truly a blessing for me,” Tyler said. “I’m going to fix up my house, buy new furniture, buy some presents for the kids and save a bit.”
Another Cash 5 jackpot winner is Mary Hansbro of Fayetteville. She matched all five numbers in the Sept. 11 drawing to win the $180,197 jackpot. She purchased the lucky ticket at the Short Stop on Murchison Road in Fayetteville.
A pair of players scratched their way to six-figure wins. Advance resident Juvenal Diaz is the second player to win $200,000 playing the new Break the Bank game, which started Sept. 2. And Jamiela Hardrick's story is pretty amazing. A friend’s story about winning prizes every now and then with scratch-off tickets led her to try her luck one two Mega Bucks.
