The search is on for a missing $173,578 Cash 5 ticket

Did you or someone you know buy a Cash 5 ticket in Asheboro last August? If so, you may be holding a ticket worth $173,578 that is set to expire in two weeks’ time. The lucky ticket was purchased at the Quik Chek on Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.

“We’re letting our customers know that they need to make sure they check their tickets,” said Michelle Stanback, the store’s manager. “We hope someone claims the money before it’s too late.”

The ticket matched all five balls in the drawing, which were 5 - 13 - 21 - 24 - 33.

To claim the prize, the ticket must be presented at N.C. Education Lottery headquarters in Raleigh by 5 p.m. on Feb. 4. The deadline ends the 180-day period for winners to claim a prize.

The missing ticket was one of three that matched all five numbers in the drawing to split a $520,734 jackpot. The other two shares were claimed by a player in Greenville and another in Fayetteville.

We’d hate to see this lucky ticket go unclaimed, so check your pockets and help us spread the word!

i enter all my tickets into lukezone and i check the tickets online , if i amde a error i would hope the ncel cross checkes the luckezone entry for a winning ticket and contacts me

I am still confused,as always, if our second chance monopoly numbers are entered on luckzone as required to be included in the second chance drawing the numbers should be displayed for the players to see.I know that there is excitement in seeing if ours match,post winning entries now, and names later, the suspense is to much to handle. thanks

An entry from Onslow County has just as good a chance of winning a prize as an entry made anywhere else. It's just luck of the draw :-)

we need a lottery with more than one big winner. the sale of lottery tickets would sore if there were more than one winner on a major jackpot. momopoloy was a lottery with more than one winner but was not promoted like the other big lotto were. create lotto with jackpot limits and more winner to share.

The state I moved from started lotto with a million dollar lotto ticket. Same as power ball but just for the state. it started with 1 million dollar prize and grew just like all the rest. I believe now it starts at 3 million because it grew over the year. The person who mentioned this is right. This a great idea, a NC state only power ball! I would by a dollar ticket. The state I moved from was 2 chances for a dollar, but iI would pay a dollar for one game one chance twice a week. Give a try!

Why don't our questions get answered? Is NCEL/LZ embarrassed to do so? I have asked 4 questions over the last 3 days and to no avail. That poses more questions as to why? Thanks NCEL for nothing. Fastest way to get an answer is to call our Customer Service team at 877 962-7529, M-F, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Seeing your frustration, we would like to remind everyone that if you're not having fun playing the lottery it is probably a sign you should take a break. Lottery games are games of chance and should be played with money that you can afford to lose. You don't have to forfeit your entries and points. Those came from the tickets you already purchased and will stay in your account if you decide you want to use them.

In what way does the 'quantity' play a role when we enter a drawing if the entry # is selected via RNG? NC Lottery
Good morning, ROBGAW2014. Not sure we understand the question about quantity, but will give it a try. The number of entries overall in a drawing determine the odds. If you have one entry, you have one chance. If you have two entries, you have two chances. All RNG does is randomly pick the winning entry from all the entries in the drawing. So having more entries in a drawing give you more chances, but doesn't change the odds for any single entry being a winner.

The drawing was done. Winners are typically notified within 48 hours, first at the e-mail address associated with their Lucke-Zone account and then, if necessary, by telephone and certified mail. A winner's name is only announced after he or she responds to notification AND completes the claim process, which can take days or weeks. I notice all the ticket wins from purchases made in stores, but does anyone ever win from purchasing a ticket via subscription? I haven't seen the yet. I want know if it's better just buying a ticket at the store.NC Lottery
Players win prizes via subscription. If the prize is under $600, it's automatically placed in the winner's wallet. The odds of winning a prize are the same whether through web-based subscription or on a ticket purchased in a store :)

Well, Well, Well a ticket about to go unclaimed! All the times I've played and all the money spent on playing Cash5 and other draw games. I just can't win nothing big like that! Hope who ever has it, will come forward and claim it before it's to late. I would be there in a skinny minute if it was my ticket. smh!!!!
