Two $1 million wins topped the list of Big Winners last week as North Carolinians from all across the state collected lottery prizes.
The lucky winners of 14 prizes topping $10,000 were 13 North Carolinians and one visitor from Florida.
The first $1 million prize of the week went to Willie Mae Lisenby, a retiree from Fayetteville. She said she will use the money she won playing $1,000 Mayhem to travel and save for the future.
The other went to Kevin Newton of Jacksonville, Fla., who returned to North Carolina on Friday to collect a $1 million prize he won from the Aug. 7 Mega Millions drawing. Newton purchased the lucky ticket, which match five balls but not the Mega Ball, in Wilson at the at the Rose Mart on North Nash Street in Wilson.

And Rocky Mount resident Gregory Carroll, a supervisor at a local tobacco processing plant, said he plans to invest in a college fund for his daughter and make repairs to his home after winning $196,676 in the Oct. 5 drawing.
A nice Powerball prize went to Fayetteville resident Robert Williams. On Tuesday, Williams claimed the $20,000 prize he won in the Sept. 23 Powerball drawing.
Three players won $50,000 this week:
- Brevard resident Mary Curro, Lucky 7 Slingo
- Charlotte resident Jose Jimenez, Blackout Bingo

Thanks to all who play our lottery. Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state annually.

The 2nd chance drawing for the 5000 gold rush was held on Oct. 7 2015. It was suppose to be 5 winners but it only has 1. Why is that?
