Most Fridays, we like to take a look back at the week that was in big lottery wins. Usually we start with the biggest wins but, since we're turning the clocks back this weekend, let's do the big winner wrap-up backwards, too.
Six players from across the state won $10,000 instantly this week. They are:
- Antwane Wilson of Greenville ($50X The Cash)
- Ronald Hutton of Clemmons ($4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular)
- Ronald Smith of Durham (Jumbo Bucks)
- Beverly Whitman of Newport ($200 Million Blowout)
- Enrique Rios of Trinity (Diamonds and Dollars)
- Amy Long of Weddington (100X The Cash)
Three prizes of $20,000 were awarded. They belong to:
- Alfred Ash of Kings Mountain (Ultimate Millions)
- Mary Ford of Boone (Lucky 13)
- Gamaleil Garcia of Durham (Lucky 13)
How about our five $50,000 winners? Let’s congratulate:
- David Allen of High Point (Platinum 7’s)
- Fred Jordan of Fayetteville (10X The Cash)
- Ruth Williams of Raleigh (Junior Big Ol’ Bucks)
- Harvey Combs of Snow Hill (Junior Big Ol’ Bucks)
- Curtis Taylor of Williamston ($200 Million Blowout)
A mother and daughter from Greensboro shared the best story of the week. Sue Gleiter gave her daughter, Ashley a winning ticket worth $50. Ashley used the prize money to buy some more tickets, including one for her favorite game, Bonus Corners Crosswords. Later, back at home, they scratched the tickets. They thought they won $100 on the crossword-themed ticket, and Ashley returned to the store to claim this prize too. “She came back home,” Sue recalled, “honking her horn and screaming, ‘We didn’t win $100. We won $100,000!’”
A Brunswick County man won $150,000 instantly. Robert Jenkins of Leland is the fourth and final player to win the top prize in the Emerald 7’s game.
A Lexington retiree is the fourth person to win $1 million or more playing Ultimate Millions. Robert Loflin bought his lucky ticket at 2 Exprezit on U.S. 64 East in Lexington. Three top prizes of $10 million and 15 prizes of $1 million remain to be claimed. Three second-chance drawings for a $1 million prize will also be held. Several Lucke-Zone members have asked when the first drawing will be held. We don’t have a date to share yet. But, as soon as we do, we’ll share it with you.
If something startles you this Halloween weekend, we hope it's a lucky lottery win. See you next time here in the Lucke-Zone.
