$2 million-winning Powerball ticket sold in Stanly County

Someone who played Powerball at the Alco on U.S. 52 North in Albemarle won big in Wednesday’s drawing.

The numbers for the white balls were 17-40-41-46-69 and 6 for the red Powerball.

Had it been a $2 Powerball ticket it would be worth $1 million. But because the $1 Power Play feature was added, the base prize doubled to $2 million.

A Powerball promotion in effect through Nov. 28 gives players who buy three sets of Power Play numbers on one ticket qualify for a FREE Power Play ticket for the next drawing.

The jackpot annuity for Saturday’s drawing is $80 million, worth $48.9 million cash.

$30 tickets should be (40) 1 Million Winners instead of (4) 10.000,000 Million Winners. That gives lot more NORTH CAROLINA'S A BETTER CHANCE OF BECOMING MILLIONAIRE'S, JUST MAKES A LOT MORE SINCE, I need to go work for NCEL. Or drop the price of ticket down to $10.

$30 tickets have been a big disappointment for me. All $30 tickets should be at least a $10 winner. Think of the advertisement. EVERY TICKET IS A WINNER!

As published under remaining prizes ,The lucky 7 had over 6 million break even tickets.Inasmuch another factor as break even tickets appears to be inducement of such tickets as scrams.

Wow. Nice win. For prizes up to $5,000, we are required to withhold state taxes - 5.75 percent. For prizes $5,001, we withhold state taxes and federal taxes of 25 percent. For your prize, it should only be 5.75 percent.

We're just announcing the win and where the lucky ticket was sold. No winner has come forward as of Friday, Nov. 20th.
