Could one of these be the gift of the season?

The new instant games out this First Tuesday are our traditional holiday-themed scratchers. In other words: ‘Tis the season for those of you who like to play or give away lottery ticket during the holidays.

You can wrap up with a bow a $10 Holiday Gold ticket along and give a chance to win $1 million. Or you could stuff a stocking with a $5 Merry Mega Bucks tickets and give a chance to win $100,000.

The biggest game of the season is Holiday Gold. It begins with more than $14.1 million in total prizes and contains more than 250 prizes from $1,000 to $1 million.

Here’s a quick look at the other four.

- Merry Mega Bucks: three top prizes of $100,000; $10.3 million in total prizes; 76,000 prizes from $30 to $500; and price, $5.
- Peppermint Payout: three top prizes of $50,000; $3.9 million in total prizes; 46,000 prizes between $20 and $150; and price, $3.
- Bah Humbucks: five top prizes of $20,000; $4.8 million in total prizes; and price, $2.
- Sleigh Bills: five top prizes of $5,000; more than 1 million winning tickets; and price, $1.

We know that holiday-themed tickets are a popular tradition and we hope people enjoy playing the games and giving away tickets as gifts or fun stocking stuffers.

I love to play. I'm just now entering the triple play tickets Lol! I've been playing the lottery for years and been entering my tickets for years on here and still haven't won no more than 3-10 dollars on the scratch offs.. I'm still playing believing that I'll win something big one day..

I won't even get into the fact that nearly every major Scratcher has came from the Charlotte area this summer and now into fall, that's beating a dead horse. I will buy some holiday tks but they are kind of plain and boring. I like the symbols.snowmen,sleighs,etc even though I never scratch and reveal one of them.

That is why we shouldn't be able to enter winning tickets...cashiers can take all the winners that CUSTOMERS have cashed in that day and take home to enter as there own..so wrong...PLEASE change it back like it was

Please do some sort of promotion for the retailers so they will keep the 5K for Life $10 card in stock. A lot of us are trying to win that last top prize, Problem is, you can't find the card anywhere. We are trying to help you get rid of the last non-barcode card out there. Help us help you.

As there is no appropriate place to ask this I'll ask it here. Why does the NCEL take so long to update their webpage with accurate and timely information? Example: go to the drawings page and we see there are 7 drawings listed with only 2 currently open and 5 already closed drawings? Why a closed drawings listed for months after they are closed? Aren't the second chance winners usually employees of stores that sell lottery tickets? Aren't most (as in the majority) of the tickets entered into the second chance lucke-zone tickets entered by store employees using the tickets they pick out of the trash cans other people purchased? And isn't that an unfair advantage over non-store lottery ticket players. Is that a conflict of interest?NC Lottery

I played Peppermint Payout, the payouts seem off. The ticket should have been bigger with two more payouts with the bonuses being two more numbers. Something is missing, even if the buyer wins.

A little disappointed in Sleigh Bells. Out of 17 tickets in numerical order, only 2 of them were winners at $1 each. That doesn't even meet the odds printed on the back of the ticket.

These will be just like all the rest of the tickets. Maybe one winner in about 15 tickets and that will pay money back. The Lottery is one BIG JOKE and does nothing but take hard earned money from people that don't have it and are living on a dream. Out of 17 tickets yesterday we watched 2 were winners. One $10.00 ticket money back one $5 ticket and money back. 15 tickets with nothing and you say it's fair and to play for fun nothing fun about it. Save your money people you will be way ahead of the game. Living proof here.

A little scroogie on the 1000's wouldn't you say? 265? last (4) 10.00 tickets had between 948-8,359 1,000 prizes. Bah Humbug!NC Lottery
The prize money goes to various levels; the game pays out 73.5% overall. Hopefully there's a $10 game out there you like! :)
