Prize claim deadline nears

We just wanted to give you a quick reminder that a deadline to make claims for eight instant scratch-off games is Thursday, March 19.

Prizes on these games must be claimed by Thursday, March 19: $2,500 a Week for Life!, $4,000,000 Gold Bullion, Red, White and Blue Cash, 50X the Cash, Ultimate Crossword, $200,000 Grant, Scoop The Cash and 7-11-21.

Under NCEL policy, all instant game prizes must be claimed within ninety (90) days of the announced end-of-game date. The NCEL announced that these eight games were ending as of Dec. 19, 2014.

Claims under $600 can be made at a lottery retailer before midnight on Thursday. Claims of $600 up to $99,999 must be made at one of the six regional claim centers before 5 p.m. that day while claims of $100,000 and above must be made at NCEL headquarters before 5 p.m. on that day as well. Claims that are mailed to the NCEL must be received within 90 days of the official end of game date and postmarks will not satisfy the 90-day requirement.

I recently filled out a lottery survey that promised me 100 points. Was that a legitimate email from Luckzone? I have not received 100 and I filled out the survey on Feb 28th, 2015.NC Lottery
Yes, we are working with a third-party company to learn more from players. Not sure about a timetable for when the points are supposed to appear in your account. If they haven't arrived within another 10 days, please call player customer service at 877-962-7529 and someone will look into it.

Tried to buy a monopoly ticket on the 18th was told the game was canceled.Tried to buy a ticket several times since told no tickets yet,have tried today March 19th. Told no tickets.was to start on the 17th. Are you going to move the entry date or what. Please give a response. Thank you.NC Lottery
It's possible that the store(s) you've visited have not yet rotated the new ticket into stock, or that the clerk/manager isn't aware of the new scratch-off Monopoly game. You should be able to find the ticket at a store near you somewhere!

You do not need to keep the physical tickets once you have registered them.

The lottery's random number generator is certified by Eclipse Testing http://www.eclipsetesting.com. This certification includes two parts: a source code review to ensure every line of the system's source code contains no malicious or extra lines of code, and a review of data samples provided by the RNG. The system runs tests on itself approximately once every four seconds to ensure random number generation according to FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards). These tests are monitored and if even one of the 20,000 or so that the system runs during the normal draw fails, the process stops and starts over. As with drawings using balls, an independent auditor is present for every drawing to ensure security procedures are followed.

No, once it's entered and you've received points, you don't have to hold on to the ticket.

Two questions if you enter in two different luck e drawings can you win in each drawing. Also will the function that tells you if a instant ticket is a winner when you submit it come back. I really liked that function as sometimes I would look over a ticket by mistake and it was actually a winning ticketNC Lottery
The answer to your first question is yes. One your second question, we've heard from many players they were using the entry system as a way to check tickets, but now that all tickets are eligible, the system will not stop you from entering a winning instant ticket. So check your tickets carefully! :)

Random Number Generator is misleading as a computer cannot generate a true random number or anything random since it needs a program to do so (among other reasons). Furthermore, testing five times with All or Nothing & then declaring a winning number is shady. If you trust the output why not accept the first 'random number' generated? Finally, with all this computer hacking how can you be sure your hardware/software has not been compromised? Seems to me that not only is it easier to game the computer more people can do it. At least with balls in a drum someone has to physically manipulate the balls for them to cheat. With your computer they do not even have to be in the country.

I've always wondered this, so I am going to ask. If there is a second chance drawing that has like 5 winners available and you enter multiple times can you win twice if you are that lucky or your name can only win once even if it is drawn twice, since this is a "random drawn by entries." Lucke-Zone rules state that members can win no more than one prize per drawing. But you can enter as many drawings as you want, there's no limit on how many drawings you can enter to win :)

Hello, I have sacks of scratch tickets and lottery tickets that I have entered in games. Is it necessary to hold on to them or can I toss them after I submit? Also, now that we can enter winning tickets, should those numbers be entered on line before cashing? I PLAY TO WIN :)NC Lottery

why can retailers NOT give you back your winning ticket?NC Lottery
The policy since 2006 for retailers who scanned and paid out on a winning scratch-off was to deface the ticket. Many keep it on hand as a way of tracking inventory on payouts.

If you're talking about Lucke-Rewards or second-chance drawings, winners are notified by email, then if necessary, telephone and certified mail. If you're talking about claiming a prize on a scratch-off ticket, only you would know if you have a winning ticket or not by having it scanned at a retailer.

If you win in a Lucke-Rewards drawing, you will typically be notified by e-mail within 48 hours of the date of the drawing. If we don't hear back, we try by telephone and if necessary certified mail.
