Lots of players are having fun playing the new 1-OFF play type on their Pick3/Pick 4 tickets, and many Lucke-Zone members have chimed in with positive feedback.
“I have won $220 with the new feature. I love it!” - Syeda118
“1-OFF is a great way to play. I have won a couple of times playing that way.” - ninachristina
We have also noticed that some 1-OFF players have questions about how to play. In this blog, we’d like to address a few questions from the comments section of previous entries regarding Pick 3, but the answers apply to Pick 4 as well.
Q: If I pick 3-8-7 and the number drawn is 3-9-6, do I win?
A: Yes! To win a prize playing 1-OFF, each number can only be one number up or down – called “1-OFF” – in the exact order in which the numbers were drawn. Because your middle number is one lower and your third number is one higher than the number drawn, in this case, you would have won $10 on a $1 play or $5 on a $.50 play.
Q: Let’s say 8-3-7 comes out and I play 1-OFF of 5-8-3. Do I win anything?
A: No. Because your first number is three numbers higher, your middle number is five numbers lower and your third number is four higher. To win a prize playing 1-OFF, each number can only be one number up or down in the exact order of the numbers drawn.
Q: Let’s say 2-3-4 comes out and I play 1-OFF of 2-3-7. Do I win anything?
A: No. Two numbers matched, but the 7 is three off.
Q: Say I play 4-4-4 with 1-OFF and the Pick 3 number is 4-4-4. Do I win?
A: For the 1-OFF play type, if you play 4-4-4 and it comes out 4-4-4, you don't win on that ticket. At least one of your numbers must be one number higher or lower than what was drawn. So to be clear, if you want to win using your favorite numbers, you'd need another Pick 3 ticket played with the Any/Exact play type. If you think your number is going to be close, then also buy a 1-OFF ticket.
Q: Will the number I choose have to be three different numbers and no double numbers? For example, Can I choose 112 for this game or will only three different numbers work, like 123?
A: With the 1-OFF play type, you can pick any of the possible numbers, 000-999, for Pick 3. You win a prize if one, two or three of your numbers are 1-OFF. There are 26 possible combinations of numbers that win a prize when you Play Pick 3 with the 1-OFF play type. Pick 4 has 80 possible combinations.
We hope this Q&A helped resolve some questions you may have about 1-OFF.
Remember, the easiest way to see what you can win is to look right at your ticket. Every potential winning number is printed along with the corresponding prize amount.
See you next time, Lucke-Zone!
