In the week leading up to the first episode of the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB TV Game Show, two lucky lottery players won $150,000 top prizes playing the instant game that goes by the same name.
Nathaniel Grissett of Greenville, S.C. bought his lucky $5 ticket at Mountain Energy on Asheville Highway in Hendersonville. The second winner, Nicholas Gallop of Trinity, collected his big win after purchasing the lucky ticket at Crossroads Grocery on West Fairfield Road in High Point.
The biggest win of the week belongs to Mickey Pruitt, a machine operator from Lincolnton, who won $1 million playing 50X The Cash. He said that, after 10 years of marriage, the prize money means he and his wife can finally go on a honeymoon.
An Oxford man won $100,000 playing Mega Bucks. Michael Evans said he'll use his winnings to make home repairs and save for the future.
Thirty, count 'em 30 players won $10,000 to $64,609 this week. The winners' hometowns ranged from the mountain towns of Fletcher, Marble and Yanceyville to the coastal plains towns of Wilmington, Elizabeth City and Hampstead - not to mention Piedmont winners from big cities like Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro, and Raleigh as well as smaller places like Burlington, Efland and Morrisville.
