New "Mayhem" games bring more than $86 million in prizes

Scratching off a new "Mayhem" instant ticket won't cause any chaos – but it could bring you good luck.

The four-game suite launches Tuesday with more than 150,000 prizes from $50 to $1 million.

The new $10 game, $1,000 Mayhem, begins with four $1 million top prizes and more than 8,000 prizes of $1,000. More than $49 million can be won in the game. Players who reveal a “$1,000 Starburst” symbol win $1,000 instantly.

$500 Mayhem, a $5 dollar game, begins with five top prizes of $150,000 and more than 8,000 prizes of $500.

The $100 Mayhem game ($2) is all about the Benjamins. It features more than 12,000 prizes of $100 and four $50,000 top prizes.

Want a little "mayhem" for just a buck? The $50 Mayhem game begins with six top prizes of $10,000 and more than 10,000 prizes of $50.

Also showing up in stores this week is a new crossword-style game called Bonus Corners Crossword. The $5 game begins with three $100,000 top prizes and more than $10 million in total prizes.

Folks who play via web-based subscription have definitely won prizes. Whether you play that way or on a printed ticket, the odds are the same. We don't have the information handy what the largest win is that has come via subscription so far.

I read some comments before I repeated this, but every time I enter the Mayhem tickets it say not recognized.NC Lottery
Thanks to you and another Lucke-Zone member, we checked with the technical folks and the system was not set to recognize the Mayhem tickets until 12:00 a.m. this morning - the system should accept the tickets now and we don't expect you should have this problem again :-)

Hello, will Concord NC get the Walking Dead scratch off tickets? I've been seeing them in other states, but being that I am a big fan of the TV show, I would definitely love to scratch one off and save as a souvenir. :) NC Lottery

No. The limit for smaller prizes is $599. So if you win $1,000, you'll need to come to one of our regional offices - Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, Greenville, or Wilmington - to collect. Hope to see you there.

What exact day does the Ticket, May Mayhem Madness come out? Exact Date NC Lottery
Our goal is to have tickets to all stores by First Tuesday. That's a logistical challenge with 6,800 lottery ticket sellers across the state. Retailers can begin selling tickets as soon as they get them. So some will be available before Tuesday. Good luck with the new games.

I am becoming very discouraged at the number of loosing tickets I am seeing a lot of people including myself. I often will buy 7 or more in a row 10 dollar and 5 dollar tickets and all will be non-winners . Others I have talked to are experiencing the same. Something seems wrong with this situation!NC Lottery
