Lucky store pops up in Greensboro

The “X The Cash” games are paying off in a big way at a convenience store in Greensboro.

Over the past few weeks, two Greensboro residents won big prizes at the Irving Park BP on North Elm Street. On April 20, Paul Topolka claimed a $10,000 prize in the 100X The Cash game. Then on April 29, Linda Stanfield claimed a $50,000 prize playing 50X The Cash.

“It’s been very exciting to have two big winners in such a short amount of time like that,” store owner Lee Shuler said. “They are regular customers. And they both couldn’t believe their eyes when they scratched off the ticket. I’m happy for them.”

Some players have gotten word of the recent wins and have considered Irving Park BP to be a lucky store.

“It’s certainly a good thing for us,” Shuler said. “I’ve seen a little uptick in sales since then. I hope it continues and we get even more big wins in the future.”

Since I have stopped playing lottery, I have been on pins and needles! Hoping my numbers won't be coming out anytime soon! My wife has found a part time job in a store. Thank Heaven!! Just hope they won't get robbed! Still don't mean I will start back playing though! Having to hold on the extra money for other things! Gas, groceries ect, ect!!! ON THE SECOND CHANCE DRAWING, IF YOU WIN A PRIZE DO THE NCEL STILL LET THAT PERSON ENTER DRAWINGS AGAIN OR THEY HAVE TO WAIT FOR A PERIOD OF TIME TO ENTER AGAIN. It takes some luck to win more than one drawing, but it can be done. Each drawing is separate from the last one, so you have a chance in every one you enter.

Dear Lottery, i run a small business and I know to the penny where my money is and where it goes. This is what I think: When you start with a new scratch off ticket, yes you do put out relatively a generous amounts of winner to fuel the public's greed. Then after that comes the worthless paper. To tell me that the lottery has no idea where and when the BIG money tickets are released to the public, I don't buy that for one second. Your business is to make money like any other business. The lottery is going to theirs first before any one else and isn't going to release any of the Big scratch off before it has collected enough money to support the game and pay for the payouts.NC Lottery
The lottery's operations are regulated and audited. We couldn't operate if the games weren't fair to all players.

I doubt to many people are reading this blog anymore but I wanted to comment on the few players that are dissatisfied with the lottery. I hate to tell you but the odds are extremely against you to win but it is the slim chance that makes it fun. They place the odds on the back of the tickets. The odds are determined by the total amount printed. Which could mean one store gets a roll with only one winner while the store across the street has 10 winners on their roll of the same game. You will lose more then you win unless you are the extremely lucky ones. As far as the second chance drawings it makes no since that it would be a SCAM. First of all, they don't have to provide a second chance drawing to the players but they do. Thanks NCEL I have been one of the lucky ones to win a second chance drawing and that is just what it is LUCK. I think I put in 100 or so entries in and won but every other time I have lost. Quit playing if you are not happy

The stores in my area that have the most winners from are own by the Patels or Saudis from Saudi Arabia. I have been looking over all the winners who won on scratch offs on Lz. Just in my area, I see the repeated stores names having the most winners from. When I start back playing again, that's the stores I'm going to hit! Good Luck folks! Cause you going to need it! Yes answer the question. And yes I have used your help link and the answer I got is we are looking into it. Which mean you don't care. I saved up my points for 2 months and spent 4 thousand dollars to enter 8021 entries and did not win anything. What a SCAM!!! NC Lottery

TASORRELL, they will not answer that question! Just keep telling us it only takes one lucky entry. Funny thing is month after month we see lots of people complaining that they have not won after thousands upon thousands of entries in the drawings. SMH, I would just like ?an answer. ?Ya know?

I wondered about that Education money too. 50 million was used to pay NC debt by Gov Perdue and the rest in the accounts frozen. NC Lottery
That $50 million from the reserve fund was used to support other education initiatives during the recession a few years ago. Thankfully the economy is in better shape now and we are on track to transfer more than half a billion dollars to education in NC this year.

So I see that people are entering thousands of points for 2nd chance drawings. I just wanna know if the winners won with that many. Cause I never have that many. Been entering every drawing for three years and nothing but if it takes 1000s to win then no wonder NC Lottery
We don't keep up with those statistics as we have multiple drawings throughout the week. Just remember, it only takes one lucky entry to win a prize!

As far as scratch offs go,,Fiddlesticks in Knightdale on 64 is a big winning store, there is one on Poole rd in Raleigh by the beltline near Walnut Creek shopping center that has some big winner's. Also a small gas station near where I live off Jones Franklin and Tryon rd, also has sold a bunch of winners.

A little off topic (except I am in GSO)... How come winners of the instant games are only showing up from May 1st? Tomorrow will be May 13th and that is almost two weeks without showing winners. Glad to hear of someone winning because I have major doubts about NC lottery!! I have bought 10 $300 rolls of tickets and only got even half of the $300 back on 1 out of the 17 rolls!! Since being so disappointed I started buying single tickets and my luck has been the same! On the new $10 $1,000 Mayhem tickets I have bought 17 since they came out and haven't even got my $10 back once lol So like I said, glad to see somebody is actually winning!NC Lottery
Every day we talk with folks about playing for fun - it takes luck to win! As you know, most tickets aren't winning tickets, that's what makes it possible to win a prize that is much larger than the cost of a ticket.

What's special about the lottery is that a lucky ticket could show up at any store, any time - whether it's for a drawing or an instant win. We just wanted to celebrate that this store happened to have a couple lucky winners in a short span of time. Good luck, guys! :-)

We know some members like you enjoy drawings like that but they aren't as popular as the cash drawings. So we don't have any planned at this time but that doesn't mean we won't do one in the future :-)

That's a cool story from.cloud nine . Reminds me of growing up in my dad's Gulf stations . The Asheville area has many lucky spots . One in particular is the hot spot and Georges ExxonMobil on new leicester hwy . I feel sometimes because the sell so many tickets and the fact they have some many to choose from

This store is one of my favorites. They have great auto service. As soon as you walk in you see a nice display of snyder's and lance snacks. They also have fresh popcorn and ice cream if you are in the mood. Always great customer service with a smile. Get your car fixed, grab a snack, and scratch off a big winner to pay the bill.
