First, let's talk about this weekend's jackpots. Players in this weekend’s Mega Millions and Powerball games have the chance to win a nine-figure jackpot.

Friday's Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $159 million if taken as an annuity or $95.9 million if taken as a lump sum.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $110 million if taken as an annuity or $70.5 million if the lump sum option is chosen.

Two players won big playing instant scratch-off games this week.

Though the Greene County town of Walstonburg may only be home to 219 people, it can now boast a $1 million lottery winner. Tim Mokus, a commercial glass worker, is the first player to claim the top prize in the lottery’s new $1,000 Mayhem game.

Katrina Angel of Lawndale is the latest player to win the $150,000 top prize in the Win it All game. She purchased the lucky $5 ticket at the Triple B One Stop on N.C. 274 in Cherryville.

From May 8 through May 14, instant players won $18 million and draw game players won $6 million, including $5.6 million from North Carolina draw games Pick 3, Pick 4, Cash 5 and All or Nothing. Since last weekend’s drawings, Mega Millions and Powerball players won more than $494,000 in prizes. In all, players won more than $24 million in prizes statewide.
