Final ‘Bonus Bucks’ drawing entry deadline is Wednesday

Here’s looking at you, Bonus Bucks. The 16th and final chance to win up to $50,000 in a Bonus Bucks drawing is this month. The entry deadline is midnight Wednesday.

It’s easy to be eligible to win. Just make a single Carolina Cash 5 purchase of $5. Along with your Cash 5 ticket, a Bonus Bucks entry slip will be generated automatically (at no extra cost). Make sure to hang on to both tickets – after all, either one could make you a winner!

The drawing will be held June 25. Check our website to see what entry numbers are the winning numbers. Besides the $50,000 prize, a $5,000 prize and three $1,000 prizes will be awarded. Since November 2012, the promotion offered players the chance to win more than $900,000 in total prizes.

Although the Bonus Bucks promotion is coming to a close, through July 11, Cash 5 players can win double the top prize playing with EZ Match. During Cash 5 EZ Double Days, the EZ Match top prize is doubled – from $500 to $1,000.

Make sure to get your Bonus Bucks entries before midnight Wednesday. Good luck everyone.

When are we as player going to see "How many $1000.00 winner you all had during this promotion?" I played all the time an only seen "TWO" $1000.00 chances on my tickets the whole time. I am not talking about just one ticket a day either. Plus I purchased from different stores different times of the day something just don't seem right with these computer generated games. NC Lottery

Only problem I have is like the drawing that just happen 3 winners where from charlotte 2 was on the same street that is not fair youll should at least pick another one if that one comes up that is the same area never the less same street. Sales are down with the lottery and stuff like this is the reason why! People are not going to play if they don't feel like they have a fair chance of winning I played the cash 5 bonus game twice that was it because I saw how it was going. I'm not mad I just want to point out that your customers are watching. NC Lottery
Good afternoon, AP. It's the luck of the draw. Everyone should have the same chance to win regardless of where they buy their tickets. One of the reasons lottery winners are public is so that everyone can see what is going on. Our sales are actually up. We will have the best year ever raising money for education. We have lots of winners across the state, including Durham. Check out our News page or Winner's Board to see more winners. Unclaimed prize money goes two ways. Half goes to education. And half goes back into prize money for future games.

We encourage, but cannot force retailers to cash out prizes up to $599. Some don't keep that much cash on hand. Grocery stores are often a good option. I say Maybe something like an ATM to cash out your winning tickets with! I sold some scrape the other day, he gave me a ticket with a bar code on it, and said to go over to this ATM looking Machine and scan the bar code under the red light to scan it. Then it will disperse out your cash. Pretty neat I thought! I'm sure with all the technology here in America, Smart lottery folks can come up with something! Just my 2 cents!Good Luck everyone!

It's sort of like a raffle. When the Bonus Bucks promotion was in effect and a qualifying purchase was made, the terminal would automatically generate an entry slip with an nine-digit entry number. After the Bonus Bucks drawing is held, we post the winning entry #s on our website.

To Nancy. I understand your frustration of not winning. The lottery truly is a game of chance. I have won money of greater than $500 on power ball, scratch tickets and also Luke zone. The time I won at Lucke zone I would say my entries were minimal, other times I've had more than 200 entries and didn't win a thing. All I can say is keep playing and you too will get that call saying "check your email."

I would really like to know how the EZ match numbers numbers are picked...is it by the infamous "random number picker"?? As a side note, I no longer play any game that has computer-picked numbers..NC Lottery
It's like a virtual instant scratch-off game, except what's cool is there is ALWAYS a top prize in the game. As soon as the system generates a top prize win (yes, at random), it puts another top prize back in the game that someone could win :-) You should come to HQ and watch the RNG drawing process, you'd be impressed with the security in place to ensure the fairness of the results to all players.

We have no control over North Carolina law. From the day the Lucke-Rewards program began, it was always planned that one day all tickets would be eligible for rewards points. The rewards program was designed years ago by a vendor for the lottery.

I just purchased a 5 dollar ticket at the short stop in Coats, N.C. on Friday. I realized tonight that the clerk did not give me a bonus bucks ticket. Either they know the right thing to do or they are keeping them for themselves.NC Lottery

Brownskin maybe you (Lucky Zone) should pay your retailers for running the lottery just as we do in the DC area and I have also bought tickets and was told that they can not cash my ticket that I had to go to a Food Loin or maybe you should invest in your own stores just for playing numbers and buying scratch off tickets that will give the people of NC a job for those in need cause your retailers don't like to play lottery when you go in and then they get mad if you have a lot of numbers where I come from we play big and your retailers don't like when I am down and be playing a lot of numbers

Now, we have to watch the 1,000 on the tickets because the clerks will be. I have seen clerks peel through scratch offs for a customer. The clerks are getting tips too, a clerk said she was given $50 when a customer came in and won a $1000.NC Lottery

I started playing the EZ match playing $5 quick pick with the EZ match. I've won at total of $32.00. It seems when the system pick the EZ match numbers for the big prizes, I will be off by one number. The systems knows which numbers to pick and not win. Rip off.NC Lottery
The numbers really are just the "story" of whether or not you happened to have good luck. EZ Match pays out more than 74% in prizes and offers overall odds of 1 in 4.25 - we wish you luck however you like to play!

Why is it that no station in the Wilmington area, will carry any of the drawings? I get channels 3,46,10,22, and 26. none show the nightly drawings.NC Lottery
We'd love to have a station in the Wilmington area carry our drawings, but no station there chose to contract with us to air them. You can always watch the drawings on our website :-)

Unless you live in the northern part of the state check all the past winners ( scratch offs, seconded chance winners ) and most of the bigger winners come from the upper part of the STATE.I know what you keep telling me it the LUCK OF THE DRAW(HA HA HA)NC Lottery

I agree North Carolina Educational Lottery payout ratio is very low compared to neighboring states like Virginia. In addition, it is hard to win in North Carolina. I buy scratch offs all the time and enter the promotion/second chance drawings all the time and has never won anything on these games. I enter 6-7 games last month and this month with up to 644 entries and my name has never been drawn. I am beginning to wonder how these drawing are done. In some of the drawing, I have 200 to almost 400 entries in some drawings and still no win. What is going on here? The store I play my lottery at is a high volume store (Vicksboro Grocery & Grill) and still no big money scratch offs has been sent to this store except a small $50,000 scratch off. I play $5, $10, and $20 dollar scratch offs.

very true, I mean I don't expect to win everytime I play; but I do expect to win every now and again and not just a dollar. Winning hundreds of dollars or even greater is ideal, but I am not greedy let a sistah win a good $20-$50 i would ecstatic as if I won hundreds...Let's get on the same page guys this is peoples hard earned money; We should be able to play a legit FAIR lottery merchants not knowing is NO EXCUSE because at the end of the day lottery is getting paid and those playing are getting playedNC Lottery

Lucke Zone I have been playing for years now on all the promotional games I login and I enter my tickets and never win do people from out of state ever win with any of your promotion games. I have never seen an out of state person win I put all my tickets on the internet for all the promotionNC Lottery
We've definitely had out-of-state winners in drawings held through the Lucke-Zone. It's not easier or harder to win depending on where you live, but the vast majority of LZ members are North Carolina residents.

For the Bonus Bucks promotion, you don't enter your number anywhere, you just keep your entry slip. Then, after the drawing, check our website to see if any of the winning entry numbers match any of yours exactly.

I agree with Turbo. On several occasions, quite recently in fact, a Food Lion clerk attempted to trash my Bonus Bucks Entry.NC Lottery
While we provide information and training to more than 6,800 retailers across the state, ultimately players can protect themselves by being aware of the promotions and how they work - that way you know if you're supposed to get a Bonus Bucks entry or not :-)

Message for Turbo, you are right because when I would go to a retailer they act as if they didn't know what the 2nd ticket was for. I had one retailer set the ticket aside until I asked for it. I think some of them knew and wanted to see if the customer would ask for the bonus entry. That is why I stopped playing the ematch because the retailer would look at the ticket and tell me I didn't win before they would give it to me. Anyway for the Bonus Bucks, the majority of the retailers didn't know and asked me what kind of ticket was that To the player that said the players are not real players, I laughed and laughed about your comment and it also got me to thinking. I wonder if the money that was never claimed for the Bonus Bucks or any lottery ticket was even real players at all, It makes you wonder!!!NC Lottery

At one store where I've bought tickets, the clerk told me that most folks don't bother with the Bonus Bucks entries. The clerk said they throw them in a box and keep them for the drawing. Didn't say whether or not anything was ever won; I know they're bearer tickets, but is this legal?NC Lottery

I have went in a lot of retailers I mean a lot and ask for a print out of what was left on the scratch off tickets and the clerks did not know what i was talking about. well to day i went a 7-11 and the two clerks was scaning tickets that was never bought when they got a winner they would pay for the other ticket with the winner. and put the other money(well you no the rest)I look at them and hay go for it.afther that i will stop playing scratch offs. Seven top prizes of $50k from the first 15 drawings have never been claimed, and many of the lesser prizes. That is why this contest is flawed. Over the years, I have talked to many people and many clerks who do not even know what the bonus entry slip is for and simply throw it away. I have been telling all the clerks around town that the contest was ending. They did not even have a clue what I was talking about. NC Lottery
