Fayetteville man wins brand new truck in second-chance drawing

Fayetteville resident Tommy Stevenson is the first player to win a brand new truck in the lottery’s Trucks & Bucks second-chance drawing.

“I got a phone call from the lottery asking me to check my email,” Stevenson said. “When I saw that I had won the truck, I just started shouting. My wife came running in to see what all the commotion was about. We’ve been excited ever since.”

Stevenson picked up his brand new Cherry Red Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Quad Cab last Friday at Crown Dodge in Fayetteville.

The Stevensons have already planned their first trip with their new truck. Tommy’s son recently returned home from Korea, so the whole family is heading to Tommy’s mother’s home for a visit.

“I enjoy playing, but I never really thought I’d win,” Stevenson said. “I couldn’t believe it.”

Winners in the Trucks & Bucks second-chance promotion have a choice between a Chevrolet® Silverado™ 1500 LT Z71, Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew or Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Quad Cab. Each truck has an approximate value of $52,000.

The second Trucks & Bucks drawing occurred on June 4. We’ll announce the winner as soon as they come in to claim their prize.

No date has been set for the third and final drawing, but in the meantime you can still enter your Trucks & Bucks instant scratch-off tickets here on the Lucke-Zone for a chance to win a brand new truck.

Yes. Notification is usually made within 48 hours of the date of a drawing. So for drawings on Wednesdays, typically notification is complete by 5pm Friday. But we looked into this one for you and yes, the winner has been notified.

I feel everyone's frustration and delight, but someone has to win (and some lose). Even if it is someone from the east of Charlotte. I've been playing for a while and all I can do is look for my name to come up. I've put a lot of tickets in some games and a few in some others. Maybe there's something these winners do that we are not aware of…how about it winners - care to share your secret?

All or Nothing is popular with some players, because the overall odds of winning something back are pretty good. Its true we've had a drought since the last $250K top prize winner. We think that a lot of players are playing the same sets of numbers - like all evens, all odds, 1-12 or 13-24... those #s have the same chance of winning as any others, of course... but if more players played a wider variety of numbers, it would be more likely that we'd have another $250K winner :-)

Good morning LZ! Each truck has an approximate value of $52,000. Can you take a cash option instead of the truck? I like to win a truck, but paying taxes on it yearly with your car tags and the way gas fluctuates, not sure if we can afford it yearly to drive! Would take the cash and pay off the bills, then maybe find a used truck or car to purchase. Don't get me wrong! would Like to have a nice New Cherry Red Chevrolet® Silverado™ 1500 LT Z71..But cash would be very helpful to me right now! Since I have stopped playing the lottery, I'm digging in trash cans to find tickets to enter into the Lucky Zone. I have to use my points wisely now on what to enter into! Hey there! No, in order to be eligible for the third and final drawing, your tickets would have to be entered after 11:59pm on May 31. Any T&B tickets you've entered since then will be good for the final drawing, for which a date has not yet been set. Good luck!

So glad to see someone has won and not so far away. Most people feel like no one ever really wins but it is wonderful to think that maybe I too may have that same chance.
