Since last Wednesday, twenty-two lucky lottery players have celebrated wins of $10,000 to $2 million.
The biggest wins of the week resulted from the July 4 Powerball drawing. One went to Dorothy Myers of Raeford who won $2 million on a $3 Power Play ticket that she purchased while attending a family reunion in Roxboro. She picked her own numbers, based on the birthdays of her mother and four sisters.
The second Powerball win went to Angela Leyco of Chester, Va. who won $1 million on a ticket she bought while visiting her daughter at the Outer Banks. She plans to use her winnings to pay bills and take a trip to Italy.
Other Powerball winners this week include Dan Rust of Raleigh, who won $10,000 in the June 10 drawing, and Barbara Froneberger of Stanley won $50,000 on June 27.
Carolina Cash 5 paid off in a big way for two lucky players this week. Lester Sullivan of Charlotte, won $66,030 in the July 4 drawing. In Wake County, Zebulon resident Martin Hagwood matched all five numbers in the June 26 drawing to win the $94,282 jackpot.
Stephanie Kinlaw, a graphic designer from Fayetteville, plans to use the $200,000 prize she won in the lottery’s Week for Life Second-Chance drawing to buy a car and take the honeymoon she and her husband never had.
Our final big winner of the week, Mary Shoffner of Burlington, says she always knew she’d someday win a big prize playing the lottery. Her premonition came true on Wednesday when she claimed a $100,000 top prize in the Mega Bucks game.

I love the idea to use points to purchase items that's the only way I'm gonna get anything but doubt this will happen though Sandy
I am the biggest winner of all No more Lottery for me, so that means I keep my money and not give it to you. Yay
There was a time when you entered your ticket for second chance drawing, if it was a winner it would tell you to check your ticket, it wouldn't take it, NOW IT TAKES IT! Why the change?
I wonder when they will announce the rest of the second chance winners?
