Fireworks come early for six winners of $50,000 to $150,000

Six lucky lottery players are celebrating wins of $50,000 to $150,000 heading into the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The biggest winner of the week is Carol Person of Jacksonville, who won a $150,000 top prize playing the $500 Mayhem game. The child care worker said she would use her winnings to pay off her 2014 Ford Fusion and take a vacation.

Two players from Mebane collected $50,000. Brenda Castaneda won playing the 5X Crossword game and Bobby Florence won the June 25 Carolina Cash 5 jackpot.

Another Cash 5 jackpot winner, Wayne Campbell of Cramerton, won $55,013 in the June 23 drawing. He purchased his lucky ticket at the Wilkinson Boulevard Amoco in Charlotte.

Two more players won $50,000 playing instant games. Joyce Oxendine of Bennettsville, SC won playing 50X The Cash and Rodina Gray of Kinston won playing $200 Million Blowout.

The two big prizes won in the June 24 Powerball drawing have been claimed. Valeria Teal of Lumberton Power Played her way to $40,000 and Jerry Dalton of Highlands won $10,000. The estimated jackpot annuity for Saturday’s drawing is $70 million ($42.6 million cash).

North Carolina players also have the chance to win Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot, which stands at an estimated $84 million annuity, worth $49.6 million cash.
