It’s back. The popular All or Nothing promotion from last winter begins again on Saturday and runs through Sept. 12. During that time, simply make a single All or Nothing purchase of at least $4 and you’ll get a free Quick Pick. It’s an extra chance to win the $250,000 top prize at no extra cost!
Two types of purchases qualify you for a free ticket. You can buy a ticket with an entry into more than one drawing on a single ticket, say the day drawing and the night drawing. Or you can buy two chances or more in the next drawing.
When you make a qualifying purchase, the lottery terminal will announce “free ticket” and that’s what you’ll get – a free $2 Quick Pick for the next drawing. Before you leave the store, please make sure you have your free ticket and that you can read everything on it.
So far, we’ve had four players win the $250,000 top prize, two of whom won during the last promotion:
- Allen Boone Jr., a farm worker from Hubert in Onslow County (Nov. 14, 2014)
- William Marks, a forklift operator from Aberdeen in Moore County (Dec. 12, 2014)
- Melvin Akers, a retired sheriff’s deputy from China Grove in Rowan County (Jan. 10, 2015)
- Darlene Anuszewski, a retiree from Shallotte in Brunswick County (March 1, 2015)
Why did we have more winners more often during the promotion than before or after? Well, the odds didn’t change. What happens is, the more different number combinations that folks play for a particular drawing, the greater the chances that one will be the winning numbers. It’s the same thing you see with Cash 5, Mega Millions or Powerball.
Some players tell us they like All or Nothing because for just $2, you get a chance at winning $250,000 – and, compared to some other draw games – better odds of winning a prize of some kind. If you haven’t played All or Nothing before, this promotion is a great time to give it a try.
