Four lucky tickets sold in North Carolina won big prizes in drawings held over the extended Fourth of July holiday weekend, including Powerball wins of $1 million and $2 million.
The fireworks began when the $227,196 Cash 5 jackpot was hit in Thursday night’s drawing. The winning ticket was sold via Play at the Pump at a lucky gas pump at the Middle River C Store on Old Ocean Highway in Bolivia in Brunswick County.
As Fourth of July celebrations continued, Saturday evening's Powerball drawing resulted in two tickets winning seven-figure prizes by matching all five white balls drawn.
One of the tickets, sold at O'Neil's Quick Stop on South Morgan Street in Roxboro, is worth $2 million thanks to the $1 Power Play feature. The other ticket, sold at The Border Station on Caratoke Highway in Moyock, was not Power Played and is worth $1 million.
The same night, the Carolina Cash 5 jackpot was won in the Fourth of July drawing. That ticket, sold at the 7-Eleven on University City Boulevard in Charlotte, is worth $66,030. The winning numbers for the drawing were: 8-14-19-23-31.
We hope to meet this weekend's lucky winners soon!
