Cash 5 nears $1 million, Powerball at $301 million annuity

Two big jackpots are up for grabs Wednesday night with Carolina Cash 5 at $952,000 and Powerball at a $301 million annuity ($191.4 million cash).

Cash 5 players haven’t seen a jackpot this large in two and a half years. That was in the March 3, 2013 drawing when a Zebulon man hit the largest Cash 5 jackpot ever won by a single ticket: $1.1 million.

The biggest Cash 5 jackpot in state history was a $1.35 million jackpot split by three tickets in the May 5, 2011 drawing.

The Powerball jackpot has been rolling since Aug. 5, swelling to its fourth-highest amount of the year. It grew to a $564.1 million annuity for the February 11 drawing when three lucky tickets – including one sold in North Carolina – split the jackpot to win $188 million apiece.

The 5000 a week for life has no front bar code.. You have to manually enter the back code and then scratch off the front code and enter it also.NC Lottery

on 9-2 there was supposed to be a second chance drawing on trucks and bucks. as of oct 3 there is no winner posted.It usually says winner notified ,but a month after drawing there is nothing posted- are these drawings happening or am I wasting my time entering these tickets. NC Lottery
You're not wasting your time. We have lots of winners in second-chance drawings. Winner of the third truck is now posted. It was Cecil Young of Angier, N.C.

Regarding the comment about WHO won the truck this is what I have to say about that, if you are going to sign up on this sight to win ANYTHING if you don't have the time to pick up your prize then you must not need it as bad as other people. I have been entering to win on this sight on a regular basis and nothing annoys me more Than having to wait well over a month to see who the winner was. On that note it looks like I'm. Going to have to move to Fayettevile to win just saying

The Walmart store on Independence and Magaret Wallace will not return tickets after winning so that they can be placed in second chance drawing.Why is this?NC Lottery
For many years until the Lucke-Rewards program started, the lottery's policy was that retailers were not allowed to return winning tickets. We have since changed that policy so that now, if specific procedures are followed, a winning ticket can be returned - but stores are not required by the lottery to do it. Some stores have their own policy about keeping winning tickets as proof that a prize has been paid out. Because of that we advise players they should not expect every retailer to return a winning ticket and, because of that, we encourage you to enter your tickets in the Lucke-Zone before cashing them in for prize money.

Well how great it would be to win the powerball and split it with 600 others. I would love that, not that greedy don't need all of it. Or the cash five split with, mmmmm 20 and still get the minimum of the pay out. Lets all pray this happen it would be GGGGrrreeeeaaat.
