As summer winds down the Powerball jackpot is heating up. Saturday’s $133 million annuity, worth $84.9 million cash, is the largest for the game in more than three months. We’ll be watching with everyone Saturday night to see what happens.
In other Powerball news, two players claimed $10,000 prizes this week. Michael Harrison, who works for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Greensboro, used family birthdays to pick his lucky numbers for the Aug. 29 drawing. He plans to put a down payment on a house and take a vacation. The other winner, Sharon Fox of Pinebluff, won in the Aug. 26 drawing.
Of the five new games that debuted on First Tuesday, two marked N.C. Lottery milestones. One was BBQ Bucks, our first-ever scented lottery ticket. The other, of course, is Ultimate Millions. The $30 game begins with a chance to win four top prizes of $10 million, the largest instant prize players here have ever had the chance to win.
Speaking of millions, we had a $1 million winner come to headquarters to collect her prize money this week. Wanda Stroud of Chester, S.C. bought a 50X The Cash ticket at the Food Lion on Mt. Holly Huntersville Road in Huntersville in Mecklenburg County. She said her winnings would allow her to buy a new car, share with her daughters and save for the future.

Has the winner of the Trucks and Bucks second chance drawing for a Brand new truck come forward to claim there prize? Good luck to whomever won.
To the player who said their friend bought 6 of the $30 tickets and only won $20, that they should at least be able to win their money back...umm, they apparently read their ticket wrong,or the clerk where they cashed it in ripped them off, because if you look right on the ncel page at that exact ticket info, the least you can win, is $30- or your money back! So your friend did not win only $20! Hope this info helps you and your friend.
Thanks!!! The three new tires I need for my car, probably donate some supplies to local animal shelter, and not sure yet with the rest.
Today,I just won $1,000 on one $30 Ultimate Millions!!! ;) Woohoo me!
