Join the lottery for fun at the North Carolina State Fair

The temperatures are falling, the leaves are starting to change, but nothing says fall is officially here like the start of the North Carolina State Fair.

And once again, the lottery is excited to be part of this fun-filled event. The State Fair runs from Oct. 13 through Oct. 23. After grabbing a funnel cake and enjoying a ride, make sure you visit us at our booth near Dorton Arena. We’ll show you the newest scratch-off tickets and tell you about all the upcoming chances to win big. You could also be one of the lucky players to score some NCEL merchandise with our brand new logo.

Be sure to drop by Wednesday, Oct. 19,as we pay tribute to members of the U.S. military for their service to our country. We are the proud sponsor of Military Appreciation Day at the fair.

The first 3,000 people through the gates will receive a military appreciation keychain. The Military Appreciation Parade begins at 11 a.m.. It begins in the carnival midway, and will make its way through Kiddieland, past the Scott Building and back through the carnival midway.

When entering a ticket into a drawing and it's a winner why doesn't it tells you it's a winning ticket because sometimes you overlook itNC Lottery
The ticket entry system was not meant to be a "ticket checker" to see if you have won, it is just so you can enter tickets for points, and any drawings associated with the ticket. But, good news -- we have an updated feature to our mobile app that will tell you if your ticket is a winning ticket. We don't have a timetable for when it will come out, but it's coming! :-)

Where are you located at the state fair? Being from out of State I am used to finding the State Lottery location on the fairgrounds map. I have just spent an hour wandering aimlessly thru the map and Y'all are nowhere to be found. Did I miss you? or are you hiding from me? :o)NC Lottery

We need cash 5 twice a day. It gives you more chances to win. VA does it but the jackpot does not grow large like NC. It would be nice to have a chance to win in Both the day track and night. NC Lottery

A little off subject, but to let you guys know, I'm from Lumberton and today is the first day that we got our power, and internet back officials say we will not have water for three to four weeks, National Guard troops are here and other law enforcement, other food and help organizations, local Churches doing what God has called them to do! I'm not complaining just want you to know that we are seeing the Love of Christ being shared with us! I am truly Blessed. Asking for all your prayers! God Bless you All! I would like to have the raffle com back but with one million 10 dollar tickets instead of five hundred thousand 20 dollar tickets .I think they would sell out faster.

when entering tickets, the point values awarded has been lower in the past couple of weeks!why? has anyone else noticed this? NC Lottery
Hey, Greg. We haven't had a change, but there is a random element with how many points you get. You always get at least as much in points as you paid for the ticket and then you could get up to five times that for draw tickets or up to 10 times that for instant tickets. If you played the 10th Anniversary tickets in the past, they all come with 10 times the points and that will last until the game ends.

Pa has a raffle 4 times a year. They are a big seller. NC should Really research this game.

Thanks for the question, James. There are not plans for a raffle at the time. But the folks who make decisions about such things read the blog so they see the suggestions that you and other players make :)
