Ticket sold in Gastonia wins $319,883 Cash 5 jackpot

A lucky ticket sold in Gastonia won Monday's $319,883 Cash 5 jackpot. Someone bought it at the Gastonia Express Mart on South York Road.

The winning numbers for the drawing were 4-7-17-24-27. The winner has 180 days to collect the prize money.

Thanks to Cash 5 $100K Days, Tuesday's starting jackpot is $100,000. During the promotion, which lasts through Dec. 10, when the jackpot is won, the starting jackpot for the next drawing will be $100,000 instead of the regular $50,000 amount.

Ok quick question why is the cash 5 only jumping up t 10,000 thousands when the cash 5 was at 50,000 it would jump up larger amounts the higher it get the more it would jump being that y'all doing a 100k promotion are y'all manipulating the cash 5 amount by taking in more than what's going out two nights in row it's only jumping to 10k I am sure more people are playing cause it starts with 100k jackpo t NC Lottery
The jackpot increases based on ticket sales. The results of the drawings are based on random luck. While we're always happy for winners, of course, it is actually "unlucky" for the lottery when the jackpot is hit at $50,000 or $100,000 because -- usually -- there were not enough ticket sales to pay for the jackpot prize, and money from the unclaimed prize pool has to be used to pay prizes for the drawing.

Guess my lucky birthday and anniversary numbers aren't so lucky! Been playing them for 10 years! I read about all these winners everywhere, and wonder why i haven't won a big prize! Really, is there such a thing called luck? Could it be fate! Maybe it's chance, or is it my Destiny not to win nothing at all in my lifetime. Time will tell...I will be playing my two fortune cookies numbers on Saturday anyways! Have a blessed day!

If you owe federal taxes and state taxes do you ..Wil they take it from your winning ticket. .if it is 600 dollar ticket. NC Lottery
Yes. Prizes of $600 or more must be claimed at a lottery office and if someone owes taxes then they will be deducted from the prize amount.
