Winner says prize will help others this Christmas

Jamie Johnson said she felt blessed when she realized her $2 ticket for the 10X The Cash game was worth $10,000.

When she came to our Wilmington claim center to collect the prize money, she said she planned to use some of it to share that feeling with others.

Johnson, a bookkeeper from Maysville in Onslow County, said she will adopt families to give Christmas presents and donate gifts to an "angel tree."

That's the Christmas spirit for sure.

If you win a big prize, is there a worthy cause you would give to?

Good role models are few & far between...Good for you...I would love to start a Foundation in my Mom's memory to help numerous charities!If more people were focused on their NEEDS & not their WANTS there would be more CARING & SHARING...WHAT A WONDERFUL DIFFERENCE IT WOULD MAKE! I am a female veteran and I would help my church purchase a church van.also I would pay off debt, so I could move from low income,drug infested housing and live in another part of town. Also donate to local church who have help me with my rent and utilities last year to prevent me from being homeless.

St. Jude's and Shriner's Hospitals - all children should have a good Christmas, and a chance at life. Also the families in Gatlinburg who have lost everything.

If I win BIG, I would set up my own FOUNDATION and help people to get back on their feet after being laid off. That means with housing, food, and medical expenses.I got laid off in 2011, and did not get a full time until 2015. After being there through my introductory period I applied for another position my Human Resource told me that I had the position, but later on they told me I didn't have it because I had to many Doctor bills. So I will help people with those needs.

I'm like you MADELINE91, I here you girl, that's what I always said I would do also , but I can't seem to win, I've won a few dollars to help me pay a few of my bills and make some much needed donations with my own money,but I've spent more than I've ever won, I keep track of the numbers in a book each year and sometimes I just want to just quit playing, I know some friends that have won and done very well and they,they say they would help others; but haven't helped anyone just blew the money and keep winning. I keep over 1000 points on the Luke Zone and can't even win @ that so I just say let the points accumulate. Good luck hope you win someday.

Congrats! May you be blessed. I think North Carolina lottery will do a millionaire raffle like Pennsylvania, Florida, Kansas and Minnesota. I know because I'm a truck driver and I do play in the states that I travel to. But it's just a thought. The tickets will only cost $20 but have multiple chances to win. I brought several in Florida and owhen I go back to Pennsylvania I'll do the same.

I would pay my tithes and offerings to my church and I would definitely donate to St Jude's Hospital. They are so awesome! I would also give money to help feed the hungry. Praying that a big win comes my way.

Give it away or keep it all, your choice. Congrats JJ you are another lucky winner. Just remember players she only won $10k. After taxes she will be lucky to take home $7k. Players be careful who you give money to. They will give you a sob story of how tough it is to makes ends meet. Then take your money to buy tobacco or alcohol ., come back a month later with their hand out asking for more.

I know a bunch of families struggling I try and help everyone with what I have now which is not alot but I always try. I always day dream everyday of winning a huge lottery jackpot especially the big million dollar ones. One thing that I have always been passionate about is helping people having a rough time. It's one of my dreams to be able to help everyone which I know is impossible to get everyone. But I would start a website for people who needed help and go visit them to make sure they are legit. But if I won a few thousand i would go personally and help people I know are in crisis.I just love seeing people's faces when you help them when they really need it.

I have never felt so dissapointed in my life..First Nc lottery took my 100 dollars . I cant purchase any tickets online .They say i dont live in Nc. Gotta go through a bunch if crap to get account closed to get a refund. I dont understand why me. You guys get at least 100 bucks from me everyday. To top this off i go inside fuel doc on memorial drive today and purchase 8 20 dollar lottery tickets.Not one had a dime on it. Congratulations to Johnson?? she is great role model for others in giving backed what she was blessed with. I continue to do and will bless the Men's, Womens and State foster care homes for youth. Children our are future and the foster care system could use some funds to assist the children in desperate need. That would be my first stop then onto the Men's and Eomen shelters of Mecklenburg county. I feel my winnings are coming soon to share with others. NC lottery thanks for giving hope and giving back to education.
