Six players win $100,000 to $2 million this week

From a Cash 5 jackpot in the mountains to a $2 million Powerball ticket on the coast - and 25 other big wins in between - there's lots of lottery wins to talk about this week.

Thanks to the $1 Power Play, Carnell Marlowe of Sunset Beach doubled his Match 5 Powerball win from $1 million to $2 million. He bought his winning ticket at the Minuteman Food Mart on Beach Drive South West in Calabash. Another player doubled his winnings thanks to Power Play. Errol Buchanan of Raleigh won $100,000 in the Nov. 23 drawing.

A couple from a small town near Fayetteville plan to use their $1 million prize to buy an SUV and go on a hunting trip. Ronald and Kathy Adams of Hope Mills won the prize on a $4,000,000 Platinum Payout scratch-off ticket.

Three players claimed their Cash 5 jackpot winnings. Two of them are from Charlotte. Carson and Pauline Roark won $136,468 in the Nov. 27 drawing and James Howie won $120,000 in the Nov. 19 drawing. Jonathan Smith, who is from the town of Leicester near Asheville, won $145,464 in the Nov. 23 drawing.

Big Winners

Four players won $50,000:

- Victor Diaz of Asheboro (Junior Big Ol' Bucks)
- Brandon Hudson of Wilmington (5X Bingo Multiplier)
- Brian Pawluk of Clayton (Nov. 23 Powerball drawing)
- Phillip Schenck of Shelby (10X The Cash)

A player from Kinston, Christopher Herring, won $20,000 on a $4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular ticket. Six others scratched off $10,000 wins:

- Robert Bessette of Wilmington ($10,000 Platinum Payout)
- Garland Dowdy of Carthage (Ruby Red 7's)
- Virginia Elders of Gastonia ($4,000,000 Platinum Payout)
- Jamie Johnston of Maysville (10X The Cash)
- Wayne Langley of Asheboro ($200 Million Blowout)
- Concepcion Meza of Bulrington (Loteria)

Ten prizes of $5,000 were awarded. Talina Roberts of Dallas and Darold Simmons of Grover shared the prize they won. The other nine wins went to players from: Albemarle, Asheville, Battleboro, Charlotte, Everetts, La Grange, Laurinburg, Mocksville, and Nashville.

When people win the LuckEZone why can't the names just be posted so if people won they can check to see there names put up there what if u call and people doing answer or if there number is changed some people don't answer strange numbers NC Lottery
Because someone is only a winner after they claim a prize. If someone who wins a prize in a Rewards drawing, game-specific second-chance drawing, or promotional drawing does not claim a prize within 30 days of being notified, the prize is awarded to an alternate winner. If a person doesn't respond to e-mail notification, we'll call or send certified mail if necessary.

Every lottery game has a game number that is used to keep track of it in the system. Those are the numbers for the Holiday games :)

Ever take notice that the entire northern tier of the state that borders the entire Virginia line from east to west is always empty? This is by design. Crooked lottery. NC Lottery
It isn't easier or harder to win the lottery depending on where you live. There are just fewer people taking a chance to win in that part of the state. If you were to ask other members of the players club who live in Charlotte, Greensboro or Raleigh, our wager is they would tell you it is not easier to win the lottery just because you live in a big city :-)

Congratulations to all my NC Winners I was very surprise to hear that they were mentioning winners from NC,that needed to claim their prize. Well I feel that they probably had to let it sink in that they had "Won!". Well as for me I didn't win big but at least it's a start,I won $12 on Saturday's Big Power Ball on Nov.26th and the next day was my birthday talking about birthday luck. I also, wanted to say to Everyone may you All have a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessfull New Year to all.

New $30 ticket says there's 30 prizes from $1 million to $10 million. I look on the prize page and it says there are 22 $1 million dollar prizes and 4 $10 Million dollar prizes. That's 26, not 30. Looks like the money going to education is not helping at all. NC Lottery
Don't forget the four $1 million prizes in second-chance drawings. When you add those in, it should all add up.

As we mentioned in our announcement back in September, an updated version of the mobile app will have a scanning feature that indicates if you have a winning ticket. But we don't have a release date for that yet. As soon as we do, we'll share it with you and everyone here :)

LZ, I have a suggestion 4 ya. Back on the NCEL main page, when u click on the winners board tab. Top of the page says 12345... Next. So you scroll down the page and then have to scroll back up again to hit Next. Shouldn't there be a 12345...Next at the bottom of the page? I know silly complaint but it's raining & bored. Side bar here , The new $30 ticket looks like it has more to offer, up front & 2nd chance then the old one. I got too much invested in the old one to give up now. NC Lottery

LuckeZone, how is the multiplier selected for Powerball? It seems like the multiplier X2 comes up way too often and you only see the multiplier X4 and X5 come up hardly ever!!! Lets not forget about multiplier X10 which I don't think even exists!!! I would bet a lot of the players would agree with me that we need to see the multiplier hit bigger numbers more often! It would really be nice to win more than $8 when we get the Powerball number right, which is not very often. Please consider redoing the payout for Powerball. Thanks NC Lottery
The odds for the various multiplers are designed such that, close to half the time, the multiplier will be X2 ..... Here are the odds for the Powerball multipliers: X2 - 1 in 1.8 .. X3 - 1:13.3 .. X4 - 1:14.3 .. X5 - 1:21.5 .. X10 - 1:43

How are the second chance drawing winners are selected?NC Lottery
Rewards, second-chance and promotional drawings are held using a random number generator according to specific security procedures. To ensure fairness to all players, all lottery drawings are done with an auditor present and all the lottery’s security practices are independently reviewed on a regular basis. The more entries you make into a drawing, the more chances you have to win. But having even just one entry in a drawing gives you a chance to win. The rules state that a player can win only one prize per drawing. But you can enter as many drawings as you like.

These instant scratch games use to be fun to play. I would win some - lose some. I play $10-$20 or $30 tickets. I just put in over $800 of losers in the second chance drawings. So, I have some really bad "luck" or Lottery is now sending out the "cheap" packets right at Christmas. My enthusiasm for playing anymore is gone.

Well, I'm hoping that the Cash 5 should stay at 100k. 6 days to go! But Please keep this starting jackpot! I hope that sales of Cash 5 has help to indicate that the bigger starting jackpot is needed, for more people playing it now since it has been 100,000. I've noticed there are more winners also. I don't know the exact numbers on how many winners it has produced, since it's promotion has started. But i'm sure you all see it. Good Luck everyone and Merry Christmas to you all!!!!

LZ, I saw the first 2nd chance drawing for the new extreme millions will be first week in May, deadline to enter last week in April. Giving out more $$$ in prizes but to less people? 2nd tier prize 3 people bet $50k instead of 10 getting $5k.

I know it takes luck to win instant and draw games. But, Bipinchandra Patel seems to know when to purchase instant winning tickets at the Fast Food Mart in Indian Trail, NC. According to the instant winners board, he cash in (1) $1000 Multiplier Spectacular ticket, (2) $1000 Ultimate Millions tickets and (1) $4000 Ultimate Millions ticket on 11/23/2016.NC Lottery
We have lots of folks who have won prizes multiple times. Some combination of good luck and taking lots of chances to win is what accounts for it. Without knowing how often that winner plays it's impossible to say which element is more of a factor.

Hi there! I was telling a friend about you (LuckEZone) and told her this is where I buy all of my tickets and how easy it was. I told her I also like the drawings the second chance drawings. She said she knew about you but wouldn't join because she said no big winner has ever come from buying lottery tickets online. Naturally, I know it's literally the luck of the draw. But I did start to wonder how many online subscribers use you to purchase their tickets online. Just out of curiosity. Online subscription sales account for a very small fraction of overall ticket sales. We're glad you enjoy the service :-) We have had a $15,000 Mega Millions win, a $20,000 Powerball win and a Cash 5 jackpot all won through subscription. A ticket bought in a store or online have the same chance of beating the odds to win a prize :)
