Players win six big prizes in weekend drawings

It was a gorgeous weekend in North Carolina. And - thanks to lucky lottery tickets for jackpot games - some folks had even more reason to celebrate, as six big prizes were won.

The wins came on consecutive days starting with Friday's Mega Millions drawing. A ticket sold in Nash County at the EP Mart on N.C. 4 in Battleboro matched four white balls and the Mega Ball to win $5,000.

Weekend Wins

Saturday night, three Powerball tickets matched four white balls and the Powerball to win big prizes. Tickets worth $50,000 apiece were sold at the Heritage Market on Burlington Mills Road in Wake Forest and at the Brewer Family Fare on Peters Creek Road in Winston-Salem. The third ticket was Power Played and, because the multiplier was four, is worth $200,000. It was sold in Cumberland County at Stricklands on Maxwell Road in Stedman.

The grand finale came in the nightly Cash 5 drawing on Sunday when a pair of tickets split the $226,638 jackpot to win $113,319 each. Those winning tickets were sold in Avery County at the Three Mile Quick Mart on Linville Falls Highway in Newland and in Wake County at the Food Lion on Chapel Hill Road in Morrsville.

Thank You for the reply and wishing me luck. I can't even fathom what it would be like. As for the highest number of entries by one individual I'm just curious about the number not their name. I don't understand why that can't be answered. To MATTHEW an easier way to find out how may entries you have, on the page that you enter your tickets at the top of the page in the green bar you will see Drawings, Ticket Entry, Winners etc. - click on the Winners and you can see how many entries you have in all the second chance drawings. Hope this helps. Good Luck to all but I hope I have more luck. Sorry but I know you all wish the same thing. I have been playing Cash5,Mega Millions and Power Ball for over 10 years and spent so much on scratch offs ,I would have to win the Cash5 and still wouldn't break even. The scratch offs have gotten so sorry it's ridiculous. There are never any winners up past Winston Salem.Don't know what the problem is with that but something needs to be done about it. To chic.chip,I've got somewhere around the 12 to 1400 points in on the second drawing,I sure could use a winner out of this,I thought I had a big winner UM.yesterday,so I pondered all night how I would spend some money,then I scratched off the winning amount and it was a mere $40.nothing like I was hoping but better then negative,then I purchased 2 more,1UM and 1,50x and won $40.again,so this evening on my way home from work,I'll stop and purchase another UM and another ticket and be like everyone else playing,TO WIN ??

How many Luck-E-Zone Members does NC have? I have 291 entries in the Ultimate Millions second Chance drawing. What is the highest number of entries from one person in this drawing? What is the total number of entries of all the members for Ultimate Millions second chance drawing? Just curious. I've been a avid player ever since the lottery came to NC,you can't win if you ain't in,I've won small amounts over the years but never enough to collect from HQ,tht may change soon when I least expect it,my wife tells me to stop,but some day she will eat those words,I really wish they had taken the 10mill.scratch offs and made 8,5 mill.which would have increased the odds of a big win,however,it is all about being at the rite place and getting the ticket tht will make ur life more comfortable. There's a lot of ways to to view the lottery- in any state ! People have to understand the randomness of numbers and odds - here are the "rules" I follow - if it's a game you play everyday - find a pattern and follow it. If not, just buy ONE quick pick !

It's hard to imagine that there have been only 2 winners in all or nothing it draws 2 times a day everyday. This machine picking numbers rather than balls seems pretty fishy.NC Lottery
It's really a matter of the popularity of the game. The more number combinations folks have tickets for out there, the more likely that someone will match all or none of the winning numbers. Because the game hasn't been as popular as we'd hoped, there have been fewer tickets out there, and that has been the biggest factor in the top prize winner drought.

I'm just tired of wasting my money the area that I live in nobody never wins I watched it I watch the drawings on the TV and on the lucky zone in the pictures of people but my area nobody never wins you never see a winner from my area in the Hoke County Raeford plus these Lucky's on second chances I probably used up a thousand points for these games during the week and I've never won anything and I have noticed that when you see the winners you see the same people names that's when that tells me that they're cheating these people may not be winning and if they are winning the lottery is picking the same people to win I'm not wasting anymore of my money on the on the ticket and put it in the lucky zone I'm just going to let my point out up until they just stop not letting us use them anymore cuz instead of me wasting my points trying to win that's just giving them back to lottery board I just wish good luck to all those that to Win.NC Lottery

It is not easier or harder to win a lottery prize or win in a drawing depending on where you live. As you know, however, the majority of North Carolinians do not live in the mountains. So it just means more people are taking a chance to win east of where you live - it isn't easier to win for anyone! Good luck to you :)

To the all the winners down east congrats. To the person that spoke about the scratch offs I will share this with all of you. Me and a friend bought an entire pack of the $20-Millionaire tickets. We had one ticket that was a winner for $25. Do that math. Purchased for $600 won $20. I don't care what the responder from the lottery says if you look where the majority of the big scratch off wins come from is Greensboro and East-So folks in the western part of the state are supporting their schools more and very few big winners. Everywhere I go players complaining about no Quads coming out. I tell them they are wasting their money. NCEL takes all of their money, even lock the Quads out after so much wagered on them but they will not let them fall because the NCEL don't care about the players. As we've talked with you about over the years, the odds of any particular number coming out are exactly the same every day, no matter how long it has been or how recently the combination has come out. Everyone's numbers have the same chances of winning in every drawing. Good luck!

I've never won anything over $40 all the years I've played the lottery, I am 52 and the night before Halloweet my daughter wanted something from the grocery store. I took her and bought the one item. While there the lottery machine flashed the cash 5 total. I said I could use that kind of money right now. Just had 5 surgeries in two years. My 14 year old said naw come on let's go. I said just for that I will buy a cash 5 a megaplier and a power play. Three days later I check my numbers and hit 4 of the 5 numbers and the powerball! Three dollars on powerball paid off $100k. Notice there is no all or nothing winners...i think the game is dying. NCEL will defend it but the numbers are down...no jackpots recently, etc. game should be 20 or less numbers with a 150K or so jackpot or something. Only people who read this is communications and they have no say what happens.

Wow! Look at all the winners, poor little ole me, wins nothing! What a bummer! Look Cash 5 splits, PB winners and MM winners. I played a dollar on MM, no wins, Play 2 bucks on PB guess what, no wins. Played 3 dollars on Cash 5, hey, won a dollar! I felt like the fisherman on that car commercial with his fishing line with the dollar hooked on it!
