If you were to ask someone on the street: "How many prizes of $5,000 or more do you think lottery players win every week?" - What do you think the person's answer would be? Five? Twenty?
Well this week, the answer is 42. And four of them were worth $113,319 to $1 million.
The $1 million prizes went to scratch-off winners David Doub of Claremont, who won playing Millionaire Bucks, and Victor Harrington of Pittsboro who won playing Platinum 7's.
A $750,000 prize belongs to William McDuffie of Charlotte. He bought a lucky Jumbo Bucks ticket at the Raceway on Brookshire Boulevard in the Queen City.
And half of the $226,638 jackpot in the Jan. 31 Cash 5 drawing went to an Avery County man. Benjamin Stout of Newland claimed his $113,319 share.

- Delaina Hernandez of Yadkinville (50X The Cash)
- Richard Latalla of Charlotte (1/6/16 Powerball drawing)
- Stephen Phillips of Westfield (2/3/16 Powerball drawing)
- Jamila Girard of Fayetteville (Ultimate Millions)
Joshua Chapman of Mount Holly scratched his way to $20,000 playing 20X The Cash.
A dozen wins of $10,000 were claimed this week. The winners are from: Asheboro, Autryville, Clayton, Dover, Garner, Grifton, Henderson, Hillsborough, Monroe, Turkey, Wilmington, and Wilson.
James Hearst of Salisbury won $7,000 playing Lucky 7's.
Eighteen players from 17 different places won $5,000. They are from: Burlington, Charlotte, Clayton, Fayettevile, Greensboro, Greenville, Hoffman, Indian trail, Jacksonville, Matthews, Middlesex, Monroe, New Bern, Sanford, Shelby, Statesville, and Thomasville.

I'm with the player that said biggest part of winners on draw scratch off and 2 nd chance winners aware down east I rarely buy scratch anymore can't even win your money back my husband stopped to and now the power ball with more numbers you can guarantee it climb high every time the more the money grows grows the more the lottery gonna line there pockets I just really fell like it's rigged that my opinion.
