Of the week's four biggest wins, none were bigger than Tommy Foster of Dobson in Surry County. Foster, a body shop worker, was about to go to sleep Sunday night when something told him to go out and buy a Jumbo Bucks ticket. He got one at Brintle's Travel Plaza in Mount Airy - and won $750,000.
Lucky numbers led to six-figure prizes for two winners. Glenda Boyette of Clinton in Sampson County won $200,000 in the Jan. 30 drawing and Clifton Thomasson of Cary in Wake County won half of Sunday's $226,638 Cash 5 jackpot to win $113,319.
A Fayetteville woman says her $100,000 Mega Bucks prize means she can take her dream trip to Puerto Rico. Jamarra McCullum bought her winning ticket at the Quick Check on East 5th Street in Lumberton.
Two players claimed $50,000 wins this week. Robert McConnell of Wake Forest won his prize in the Jan. 31 Powerball drawing. And Alvin Mizelle of Ahoskie in Hertford County won playing Junior Big Ol' Bucks.
Ten players scratched their way to $10,000 prizes:
- Harry Webb of Grover (Millionaire Bucks)
- Christine Glenn of Creedmoor (Millionaire Bucks)
- Carolyn Herring of Oxford (Millionaire 7's)
- Lottie Wiseman of Greensboro ($2,500 a Week for Life!)
- Elaine Cowan of Asheville ($4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular)
