Monday Lucky for Life drawing first for NC players

Monday night marks the first Lucky for Life drawing our players have a shot to win the top prize of $1,000 a day, every day, for life.

One of the most fun things about the game is hearing what people say they’d do if they won. So we asked folks on social media and in our Raleigh claims center to share their thoughts and plans if they won the big one playing Lucky for Life:

- “Take my husband on a much-needed vacation. Planning for the kids’ college would be a lot less stressful and I would pay off my house.” - Mellissa Jackson

- “$365,000 a year would be a nice retirement. Grandchildren would have a blast for sure.” - Annette Nichols

- “First priority would be to start saving for my kids. And donate to the homeless shelter.” - Alisia Lucas

I keep winning at this game, $ 3.00 each time...better than nothing which is what I usually get MOST of the time with all the other games, lol Congrats to all NC'ers that have won much bigger prizes though !

20 states now playing LFL game! I'm wondering how long will it be, before more states will be joining this game! Time will tell! So far have not won anything on this game. I stopped playing Cash 5 after it was won the last time! When Cash 5 gets back up in the 100,000's range, will buy my 3 dollars worth again every day. Good to all of you!

It looks like a LOT of people could not buy tickets on the first day which was Super Bowl Sunday the 7th, that drawing should perhaps be cancelled and add an extra one onto the end, imho.

How are winners notified? NC Lottery
For the Lucky for Life game, you match your numbers with the winning numbers drawn. For the second-chance promotion, you will get an email, phone call and then a certified letter.

Ok I went to a store on sunday b4 the 1st drawing and the store would not sell me a L4L ticket said the box of tickets she had , had a sticker that said not 2 open til 2.8.16 so I waited til the next day 2 buy 1 now I see im not in the first 2 drawing is it because I did not submit my tickets on sunday or if I enter tickets on the day after the 1st drawing the reason why ? To be in the first $1000 drawing, you had to enter tickets the first day by 11:59 p.m. Once you enter a ticket, you have one entry in the next drawing and all the following drawings. Good luck.

How does Lucke-Zone notify winners that play the second chance games and enter into drawings with the points they accumulate? NC Lottery
By the email you provide when you sign up, then by phone, and finally, if necessary, by certified mail.

is there anywhere you can find out if ANYONE in ANY state won the diff. prizes in this game? I checked diff. sites in diff. states and have not found that info. yet. IMHO all winners ( states) of all prizes should be online some darned where, especially at the LFL site itself !!NC Lottery
Since the current version of this game started in Jan. 2015, there has been one top prize winner of $1,000 a week for life. The ticket was sold in South Carolina but has yet to be claimed. There have been 45 second place winners of $25,000 a year for life. If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the Lucky for Life website, you can sort the winner information by state! We are the 20th state to join the game. The other participating lotteries are: Arkansas, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Iowa, Idaho, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Vermont

Yes. $390,000. But $25,000 a year for the rest of a winner's life is a pretty sweet prize - could be worth a whole lot more than $390,000!!! :)

No, don't wait to enter your ticket. Today - Tuesday - is the third day to enter. If you enter today, you will have an entry for the third drawing all the way to the 35th drawing. If you enter your ticket Wednesday, you'll be in every drawing from that date forward, and so on :)

I have a question: in the Luck Zone, there used to be a way to check all of the past winners at one time on one page. Has the button be removed? Or perhaps I'm doing something wrong. I'm looking forwards to the new Lucky for Life gameNC Lottery
You can still look back at all past winners. When you go to the WINNERS page, there is a little pull-down menu toward the top of the page that allows you to look at either all drawings, just the ones you entered, or the active ones. Folks wanted us to tidy up that page so we did :-)

If you entered the ticket on Monday, Feb. 8 then you have an entry for the second drawing all the way through to the 35th and final drawing.

I'm sure to play this game ,I could use 1,000 a day,but I'm unsure why it's called "Lucky for Life' when I read in another section it says "The annuity prize is guaranteed for at least 20 years to the winner’s estate or heirs." So if the winner lives pass 20 years do they still get paid ?NC Lottery
Yes. The prize is paid for the rest of the winner's life. If something were to happen though, the prize is guaranteed for at least 20 years to the winner's estate.

Just trying to come up with a simple answer. It appears the deadline for each of these 35 second chance drawings is. The dead line to add ADDITIONAL entries into each drawing is exactly 8 days before the drawing. Make sense?NC Lottery
That is correct. Only tickets entered on Sunday will be eligible to win the $1,000 prize for the winner that will be announced on Feb. 15. But those entries will carry forward to all the remaining drawings, and so forth. It's a little complicated, we know. But wanted to give folks more chances to win :-D
