Special edition 10th anniversary scratch-off tickets launch on First Tuesday

The North Carolina Education Lottery is celebrating ten years, and we want to make sure everyone gets in on the fun. On First Tuesday, we’re launching four 10th anniversary scratch-off tickets.

For a chance to feel like a million bucks, try your hand playing 10th Anniversary Millions.The $10 ticket has four top prizes of $1 million dollars. There are over 159,000 prizes from $50 to $10,000.

For some spectacular fun, play 10th Anniversary Spectacular. The $5 ticket has four top prizes of $200,000. There are over 84,000 prizes from $50 to $1,000.

For a chance to strike it rich, try playing 10th Anniversary Riches. The $2 ticket has five top prizes of $30,000. There are over 26,000 prizes from $50 to $500.

And make sure to cash in on the fun by playing 10th Anniversary Cash. The $1 ticket has eight top prizes of $5,000. There are over 167,000 prizes from $5 to $50.

That’s not all, as a way to say thank you for an amazing ten years, each ticket will be worth ten times the Lucke-Rewards points for the life of the ticket.

Here’s a breakdown of how many points each ticket could be worth.

10th Anniversary Millions: 100-1,000 points
10th Anniversary Spectacular: 50-500 points
10th Anniversary Riches: 20-200 points
10th Anniversary Cash: 10-100 points

I cashed in $113 which was combined of scratch offs and playing the numbers one day. Put it all back in the lottery and won $148 on that cash in. I have also won $400 on the Millionaire Bucks which I got out of a lottery machine in a grocery store. You won't win if you don't play.

@ PHIL LESH - 1 in 3.33 overall odds of winning on on the $10 anniversary ticket are better odds than all the other $10 tickets we've put out since last July. You would be surprised how many players are glad to win their money back - it means you can choose to play again for another chance to win. We've had people win really big prizes that way. Break-even prizes are standard in the lottery industry. As the blog moderators, we do our best to answer questions here. Well maybe if we lived in Jacksonville, Raleigh or Greenville this would matter. It's ridiculous how bad the winners are spread out. Don't tell me how more people live there. If the ticket isn't in our town we do not win. No matter if we have 10 people in it.

Do us a favor and put that return % / payout on the online descriptions for the scratchoffs. The NUMBER of winners of each amount is not so important as the return % per dollar played in a particular game. In your example above, 1 in 3.33 wins on the 10 dollar game is a poor ratio for a 10 dollar game, but if it is paying 72.5% return, a more important number, that's not SO bad. It may mean more 20, 40, 50, 100 (and so on) dollar winners, and maybe less of those 10 dollar-only-win-back-what-you-paid prizes, which everybody hates and should be eliminated from the games. I realize those prizes are just a marketing mechanism to get the player to trade in that 10 for yet another ticket, as opposed to gettin an actual win and buying something in the Food Lion besides maybe another ticket.

LUCKE-ZONE REPLIED The Lucke-Rewards points are not a factor in these games. The $10 ticket has a $1 million top prize and 72.5% payout just like 50X The Cash does :-). --------- Must mean the 70% will be western NC, and we in eastern NC get the 2.5%. That seems more like how the odds go.NC Lottery
If you were to ask many lottery players from what you consider to be Western North Carolina, you'd probably find that many of them think you guys in the Eastern part of the state win all the prizes. We hear it from folks East, West, North, South, places big & small.. it just takes luck to win :-)

oh! oh! you know what that means. the point system.we had those type of games before. they ended up with VERY LITTLE money on the actual tickets because they were second chance buys. PLEASE! don't be fooled folks we have been through this before.NC Lottery

Not sure I understand the 10 times the points we can get. It seems the way you got it, we get 10times 10, so for a $1 ticket we get 100 points?NC Lottery
Usually instant tickets are worth between 1 and 10 times the ticket price in points. The Anniversary tickets will be worth between 10 and 100 times the ticket price. So, for the $1 game called 10th Anniversary Cash, a ticket will be worth between 10-100 points.

Please play the instant ticket carefully to see if you're a winner, enter it for points, and - if you're not sure if it won a prize or not - have it scanned at a retailer before you toss it! We are glad to pay out the prize! At some point we hope to have an app that allows you to scan tickets, but as you know it isn't available at this time. For the $1 game, 1 in 4.89; for the $2 game, 1 in 4.69; for the $5 game, 1 in 3.99; for the $10 game, 1 in 3.33 :-)

No. But you can subscribe here in the Lucke-Zone to play Carolina Cash 5, Powerball, Mega Millions, and Lucky for Life. As for instant games, you can only buy in stores.

I hope the new tickets actually have some winners! Nothing has been winning in my area for months. I said it before, and I will say it again: I don't care about winning the BIG ONE, just let players have more decent winners than break evens. Wouldn't you rather have a lot more satisfied players instead of one or two happy ones? The lottery used to be fun but not anymore. Just stating my opinion, don't care if it sounds like I'm complaining. I have a right to after buying hundreds of losers. What happened? Put some excitement back in the game!
